What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I have Diode Dynamics fogs. Love em. I have DD ditch lights to but I dont keep them on the truck full time. You can see one of the fogs here.

Many vehicles, including our Tacomas, can’t be towed without a trailer or dolly.

 

“Amber” is one of those “could go either way” names. It’s only a semi-precious gemstone, so not as popular among the professional dance community, and not uncommon among people with supportive fathers.

“Diamond,” “Sapphire,” and (Zeus forbid) “Crystal” on the other hand…..

 

Looks great, nice design too. I use that bronze on my steelies on a gold Corolla.. excellent choice. The color pops something ridiculous if you throw some tire shine on it but wouldn’t recommend that on the top plates. Like an actual oiled bronze.

 

thanks, it’s a great color, I have a few things planned, see how they come out. I’ve got a matte clear, but it still adds a bit of shine.

 

i got baja squadron ditch lights and the diode dynamics elite fogs.

you will not regret the fog upg. Make sure they’re SAE compliant though.

ditch lights .. I got the pros and they’re like too bright for forest roads in New England lol. I love em anyway tho.

I will probably get amber rock guards for them which might help temper the reflective nature off the trees. Helped me watch a moose last winter tho

Now is the time to take care of it. Grind that down, primer and paint it.

 

CMC done today at SDHQ in Gilbert. Came out really clean. Finally no more rubbing during turns and at full lock.

 

What do I use to grind it down? Or should I jusr use a wire brush

 

Clean. The one mod you don’t mind if nobody notices

 

grinding disk. sand paper. whatever it takes to get it to bare metal. wipe it off with acetone or isopropyl before spraying with primer. recommend an etching primer.

 

well after my initial trip with my first travel trailer i have learned 2 very important things about towing with a taco. A Weight distribution hitch is a must with anything over 4000lbs. yea a 2 hour drive without one. not cool. and second. the ECT power button? yea i figured out how to use that little button. very cool. now with those lessons learned and new hitch on. i will see how a 10 hour drive up to north of Edmonton for a family reunion will go.

 

Those things are great, used them for years. I actually double them up (Just one gets jammed all the way down), but they've been great for me in a Outback, Cruze, Challenger, and now my tacoma. Highly recommended.
