What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Those are the exact stiffeners I have ready to go on mine. How was install?

I felt black was best so I derped mine. The PlastiDip "paint" is super easy to use and very forgiving. It just takes a lot of thin coats.

i ordered some replacement raw plastic caps and had them primed and painted. caps were $50-100 and paint was about $150-200. The color match is perfect. i do wish the body shop sanded or body filled the texture. if you look close you can see that there is texture in the plastic. but the paint has held up well to now 4 winters and i backed into a wheel barrow last year and the scratch polished right now. the body shop did a stella job painting imo. if i had to do it again, id probably just order pre painted caps for like $200 from tacovinyl.

Solid find. I don't see them holding up in AZ but definitely better than just having an open hole.

How many bolts in total does it take?....2?
Have you heard any improvement in regards to less clicking sounds?

 

Just 2 bolts. Sold in a set from that site. Seems to have stopped clicking for me. Two others I know have also replaced them with the clicking gone-

I had the cap taken off today to go back to the factory for paint and and water shorting out the third brake light (under warranty). Wash and wax.

 

Really simple and straight forward . Just mark and drill, use a pilot bit first ! Stiffeners and hardware are excellent quality. My bed was slightly bent from the years wheeling and hauling some weight so it wasn’t quite flush on the driver side but once installed straightened and tightened everything.

 

There are worse ways to discover the bed walls are no longer secure ...

 

Washed it ... Possibly the first time this summer. It was really dirty... Now it's so nice and clean. I might not get around to washing it again until the spring.



I think my truck is developing the damn Taco Lean... My driveway is slightly sloped, but it appears to be squatting more on the driver's side. I'm at 72k miles .... Wonder if it's time for new rear shocks?

 

Did a Taco Tuesday meet up with some locals and got my picture taken (only finally got it today).

I ordered mine pre-painted from a vendor on EBay. They don’t match 100%, but it’s better than chrome, so I live with it.

 

Nice setup! Do the bed stiffeners interfere with an OEM bed mat? Thanks
