Nice idea but there's a problem. The thing about P'sOS is if they want to break in badly enough they'll just break the glass. Your solution will probably just keep a reasonably honest person honest. I get it though, we're all at risk. Used to be a time when a handshake meant something and you could leave your house unlocked. These days all bets are off! Just ain't like it used to be and probably never will be again. Sad!

Finally finished the ham install. I'm happy with the fabricated antenna mount (will put a shot of black paint on it later today). The antenna wire was fed through a grommet under the driver's seat. At approximately nine hours, which included fabrication, antenna testing, and programming the radio, it's one clean install. I'm just waiting for my custom fuse cover from Mesojdm, which should be here in a day or two.

What kind of mount setup is shown in the last picture of your Ham install up by the rearview mirror? Looks like and iPad or something. How is it mounted and what is it actually?

I definitely remember seeing a post about one mounted where you are saying. Can't remember when or what thread though. I've also seen a post about a second battery installed over in the corner by the passenger side firewall. Maybe you could mount it there too.

I know too that for those that do the train horn mods the will mount the compressor under the bed forward of the rear tires. They don't have to be right side up. Maybe figure out a way to mount it inside a waterproof plastic ammo box, with holes drilled and grommets for the wiring and hoses? :notsure:

Looks really clean - is that a stock grommet that you drilled for the co axial cable ?

Thanks for the replies. I am going to look at this today.

There is room under the hood, and it is relatively protected from the elements.

I am more concerned about the bouncing around, and not wanting to stress any of the fixtures already there. The plate under the battery looks promising, but I want to be able to remove the compressor for maintenance, etc.

My last truck was a magnet for nails and screws in the tires. Lucky so far with this truck- only one in 20 months, but I want to be able to make quick repairs when it happens.

Will post something when I get it worked out.

LED bulbs are always brighter. Post some feedback after some night driving. Most interested in how far lights project and if beam is focused or scattered. Have tried a couple of LED bulbs in fog housings but none match the throw distance and driveability of night driving. For example I have driven 3 hours late night on the interstate with only DRL and stock fog bulbs. Have not yet found a replacement LED bulb that provides equal night vision with DRL and fog lights only.

Been able to test them at night yet. I like the way they match the DRL color better.

High tones and bass made a crazy difference, it makes it well worth the money. Over all loadness is higher, I wouldn’t say a crazy amount higher, but a lot cleaner/crisp when you have to set at max.

I have been very hesitant to do this do to lots of negatives on the light output of the Fogs not being that great across the spectrum of brands. I will get some pics tonight and see what happens....

I like this idea. How'd it come out? Pictures? Was it difficult to tape around the bumper to make sure you didn't get any where you didn't want it?
