For less that what the pedal commander costs you could have your truck tuned and be much happier.

Some questions on the tune;

Will it void your warranty, can the dealer see that this has been done? Does it take care of the throttle lag as the Pedal Commander does? Is it still recommended to drive with the ECT power button "on"or does it not have to be used after a tune?

PT85735200) from my local Toyota dealer for $49.05+tax. Most 2020 and 2021 Tacomas are prewired for it - but I'm not sure about yours. It's very easy to see if yours has the OEM wiring, just pull either taillight and see if the harness circled below is there. If it's there, you're good to go for the OEM kit.

Damn, I wish my 2019 was prewired for that. The plug and play would be so nice not having to drill holes or run wires. Not to mention that 2016-19 kit is like three times the price.

Is it still recommended to drive with the ECT power button "on"or does it not have to be used after a tune? Not required but for the extra fun factor and towing, yes

I didn't wire it up, the fellas at OffGrid Engineering did. The manual says leave the blue wire disconnected for standard voltage/fixed voltage alternators (which I believe is what they did). I can go check the setup in a bit and get back to you, to confirm that is the case.

I dispise the pedal commanders . Bought one thinking it was a good idea. Those devices cause the truck to go into limp mode which isn't very fun

Attempting to make my Tacoma more space efficient for hauling the kids and wife camping, I picked up a Blue Ridge Overland Gear attic. In summer I think I’m going to use it for jacket storage, hopefully for all of us. Might get their headrest bags too, and a net bag for between the front seats.
