Lol, nice to know there's a 4R section on TW. Like the forum here much better than t4r.org, just gotta figure out who'll be at Jambo this year.

For sure, 4R is boring, and 120 trafic is way too slow.

What size tires are those? Can't make it out on the sidewall pic.

I recently picked up a 2005 with only 71,000 miles. Today I ordered some Duplicolor graphite wheel paint. Going to paint over the poorly painted gold (yes I said gold) painted rims that came with it.:annoyed:

Sorry I just saw your question, yup they're 285/75s. They've been awesome so far, just have a little rubbing in the rear when fully flexed.

Changed driveline fluids on the V8 '08 Limited I bought a month ago. Front diff 10mm Allen plugs are crap on the 4Runner same as the Tacoma and Tundra. I bet Toyota has used those same shitty 10mm plugs since 1964. A 24mm hex plug from the transfer case will swap into the front diff fill plug. I got the 10mm fill plug out then siphoned out the fluid and refilled, couldn't get the 10mm Allen drain plug out. A cheap transfer pump from Autozone worked well.

I love the 4.7 V8 in the 4runner platform. It has its quirks but it's a good all around engine, tows well because it has the factory Class IV hitch and trans cooler, has great lowend torque.

I still have the '07 Limited V8 along with the '08, both less than 115k miles, both had timing belts replaced, both nice factory leather, both SAIP bypass. I put a Toytec Boss suspension kit front and rear on the '07 with Firestone 4107 airbags and will do the same to the '08. A 600W inverter is easy to install and the tow package 130A alternator can handle it.

I'll donate one or the other to an animal rescue organization that does rescues in remote areas in the Four Corner states and needs a good 4WD SUV with lowrange that can haul a heavy trailer over gullies. A 4Runner V8 with a quality lift fits that bill. Great all around vehicle.

Today I was able to get my hands on an OEM alternator from a '99 at a local junkyard, so I purchased it and had it tested. Turns out it was in great operating condition, so I swapped it into my 4Runner. Runs between 14.0 & 14.3 volts. I cleaned it up quite nicely before installing, but it isn't shown in the photo below. Also scored a chrome & gold OEM grill. Cleaned it as well before installing. It was a very successful and productive day for me today.

The past month new to me '08 Limited V8:
    - Cleaned an amazing amount of dirt out of the underside. There was only surface rust when I crawled underneath it presale, but up on jackstands every spot that could hold Western Colorado sand/silt was literally packed with it. The frame rails were filled with sand/silt up to every access hole along the length of the frame. Despite that, there is no "crusty" type of rust anywhere even inside the frame rails. It's Colorado, everything dries out fast, doesn't hold moisture.
    - Replaced leaking inner small CV boot clamps with roundside marine clamps, injected grease into the boots using an injector needle https://www.locknlube.com/product/i...=&matchtype=&gclid=CNHgqYjqhNQCFQipaQodm80Bmg We'll see how that holds up
    - Installed the Toytec Boss kit front and rear with Firestone 4107 airbags, removed front and rear swaybars. The 4107 airbags are 2" taller than stock 4135 so they fit the 2" Toytec lift and compensate for the rear swaybar removed.
    - SPC balljoint UCA's, the new version with better washers and a grease zerk
    - Extended rear brake lines from Toytec, removing the rear sway bar those are a must
    - Spray painted and Fluid Filmed (nine rattle cans) the underside
    - Brake cleaner and Sil-Glyde on the brake pistons
    - Amsoil in the diffs and transfer case. Front diff 10mm Allen drain plug wouldn't come out, what a surprise. Used a transfer pump via the fill plug to drain and fill. The 24mm hex bolt from the transfer case can replace the front diff fill plug, direct swap
    - Greased the driveline zerks
    - Slyfox V8 SAIP bypass kit
