All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Thought I would get in the mix on this forum. Bought a newer runner from a buddy of mine.

    Install took right at 3hrs.
    SSO Slimline Hybrid
Baja Designs 30” s8 in Amber
    Smittybilt xrc 9.5k

Just need to spool the synth line and connect the Ultrahook.

Next on the list is some @JDEMELLO Hybrid Sliders (which you should check out if you haven’t).

Thanks man! Spooled the winch line and added the Ultrahook, for the cherry on top!

I am in need of a tire swap. Thinking about going with the Toyo RTs. Put them on the FJC, and love them.
Hard to say, so many tires out there.

Same! However, I am thinking stock. Soon the stock look will be turning heads since they will be more rare

I needed a winch, place to put some extra light. As far a looks, it is IMO the only option that retains the factory look, and gives you a real recovery point.
    I am happy with it.

    are you lowered? Looks good!

we are looking at lowering ours now. Old dogs can't get in the back real easy anymore. Swapped out the wheels/tires with some stockers for now. Was just gonna put it back to stock, but thought I would look into a lowering kit as well. Still rocking the spacer lift kit currently. Skipped leg day! wanted the Trail wheels (factory), but got a great deal on the SR5s so rolling on those for now.

Moved the fuels to the Taco...

so anyone know of a good lowering kit? or just replace front springs and cut the rears? Thanks in advance.

As far as a lowering kit, I'm sure one exists somewhere. All it will take is finding springs that fit front and rear of a lower spring rate. As far as cutting goes, you would have to cut AND reshape the rear coils because they are designed to sit in the coil buckets (both frame and axle) in a certain way. The frame side is nice and flat and the axle side is a smaller diameter than the rest of the coil.

Pic of dobinson and ome coils for reference.

You might try a custom airbag setup in the rear.

Thanks but no, I'm not. You just see less gap between the tires and fenders but if you look underneath from to rocker panel to ground plenty of space. I'm using 32" tires.

Thanks. I figured new shorter coils would be the answer. Guess I'll just go back to stock for now and see how it goes.

Thanks. As far as I know, there's no lowering parts for a 5th Gen 4Runner. I do know they have them for a 4th Gen which lowers 1.25" front and back. You might need to head on over to T4.Org to do some research.

A little of this and a little of that.
My ‘05 4 Runner finally got to 90K miles. It’s the 4.7 V8, so it’s a timing belt and Toyota’s recommendation to replace is 90K/72mos. Oops on the calendar, but I believe it’s an interference engine, so I didn’t want to go past the recommended mileage.

The kit is the way to go! Other than the alignment lettering being worn/faded, the original belt didn’t have a blemish.
