    Installed new pads and rotors. Was advised not to get slotted rotors. I think it was a good choice

    A lift, some wheels, some tires, some performance, some cosmetic and then audio.
    If you wheel or off road much you can get rock pebbles wedged between the pads and the slots.

    Slotted/crossdrilled remove surface area from the rotor. Unless you increase the size of the caliper along with crossdrilled/slotted rotors, you'll increase stopping distance.
    Why pay more for shittier performance?

    Certain pads must use slotted rotors to dissipate the gas and dust build up. I bet you have an aggressive pad that benefits from the rotors.

    You're ass-dyno-braking-meter lied!
    Actually it was most likely due to the pads you used. Slap the same pads on factory rotors and it will stop even better. Slots/drilled don't help braking efficiency, they are used to cool the brake rotors down. Unfortunately with stock size rotors it leaves you susceptible to cracks in the rotors as well.

    Supercars have crossdrilled because their rotors are ENORMOUS. I personally wouldn't run crossdrilled or slotted on the taco without doing the trundra brake swap. Just my 2 cents from nearly 100 hours of track time at Laguna Seca, Buttonwillow, and Thunderhill.

    Ehh, gas buildup isn't really a problem with today's brake pads. Unless you're running iron rotors and organic pads, gas buildup is a thing of the past.

    I went with Raybestos Advanced pads and some Raybestos Service Rotors.

    Yup. Jason got it on the head. Slotted rotors are designed to be cooled quickly for effective braking. Since were not race cars, it doesnt benefit us. They will also warp faster because they wont cool properly.

    Coming from a racing background....why on earth would you want to turn a warped rotor? Slotted rotors aside, that would further reduce the amount of material on the rotor, which in turn allows it to heat up faster, which in turn will allow it to warp again, but faster.
    Buy new rotors.

    Not sure about slotted but i dont think you can turn any rotor if its warped. Also theres only certain kinds of rotors you can turn and not many shops left that will turn them anymore. Rotors a cheap anyways, might as well get new ones.

    Replaced the plugs and wires on my 02 V6. They looked like the original plugs at 134K. I replaced them with OEM Toyota plugs and wires.

    I also received my Bilstein 5100's today, so I used a bit of Kroil and sprayed all the shock bolts so they'd be easy to remove when I replace them next week.

    We turn rotors and you can turn them back straight if they aren't warped too bad, but they are then thinner and more likely to warp again in most instances. The only vehicles you can justify turning them on are some of the larger suv's/trucks that don't do a lot of towing.

    I liked my slotted and drilled rotors when I was IFS. I'm actually about to put them on my setup now. I could tell a difference with all of the extra weight on my truck. Plus they did stay a lot cooler.
