When I installed my All-Pro I got rid of them, I think it's just side support for the factory bumper. You could probably run the factory bumper without them. I'm running 33x12.50s.

Changed the driver’s side cv axle, replaced the sway bar links, drained/filled the front diff., and added a diff drop kit. Heading to drive on the beach tomorrow to test out the cv axle.

Vacuumed the mulch pile out of the evap core and cleaned the coil. Coil was actually pretty clean, very little crud came out with the coil cleaner spray. 201C5836-C10F-4987-B935-41D4A00017E4.jpg5EEAE305-F1AC-4EC8-931D-C16EE1B553AD.jpg

Me back in January - “I’ll just get the top tier lbjs from AutoZone to save money”. NEVER AGAIN. Started getting some clanking the other day. Going to get oem ones this week. Less that 5k miles and the boot is shattered.

These are the ones I got, can confirm OEM and both come with new bolts, castle nuts, and cotter pins for the LBJ (you’ll need to reuse the castle and get a new cotter for the tie rod separately)

Last weekend while out on a (non-wheeling) trip, my garage was broken into and a myriad of things ($800, most of which were "useless" to whoever took them, and I'm sure they ended up in the trash) were stolen. While I'm not happy about that, I am very lucky that more wasn't taken, including the truck, since apparently the garage was open for 4 days while we were gone!

...anyway, today, the final bits (at least, that I'm going to replace) arrived, and I set about rebuilding the custom bits (air up kit) and getting everything stowed away into the truck again.

Edit: guess I still need to pick up a couple shackles at Tractor Supply.

Dang man! Sorry to hear about that. Seems to not be getting any better either. Glad your truck was still there though.
You don’t have any neighbors that noticed anything out of the ordinary? Like your garage door was open for so long without you being around?
    Good luck Dan!

Turns out that neighbors had their garage broken into in the same way. As far as noticing the door being open - just due to placement and positioning, our "friendly" neighbors don't have the correct angle unfortunately. We're all going our of our way now to check each other's doors on a regular basis, hahaha!

It's not great, but in the scheme of life, I suppose I can't really complain. (Well, except for my whining here on TW, lol).

this is the one good part of the “internet of things” - we have an ap now that alerts us to the garage door opening :anonymous:

Security cameras won't prevent it but can be a deterrent. Ours have come in handy for similar things and getting the police involved and dealing with the other party.

Yeah, problem in this case is that it was opened via a non-standard mechanism (i.e. the chain drive was disengaged) so I dunno if something like that would have triggered since the opener never thought it was open. The workaround (which I never even realized was there) has been disabled now, so fingers crossed that things are OK moving forward.

I could get a camera though that does alerts. Have used Arlo other places, and that seems pretty good...as long as the cameras themselves aren't stolen and you don't mind paying the monthly fee.

Have a camera, as well as a big sign that says "security cameras in use." Didn't deter.

    upload_2022-6-4_18-46-51.jpg

And here, this kind of thing is so low priority that it wouldn't have gotten engagement anyway. They aren't going to start looking for a guy in a hoodie :), and I'm OK with that given all that the police have on their hands and have to prioritize. They have 12 officers for all of the city that are doing property crime. Yeah. 12. For a city of nearly 750K.

Edit: thanks to both of ya for the looking out and suggestions though!

I’m sorry to hear that Dan! Motion activated rocket launchers are my suggested solution. Let me know if you’re interested, I know a guy.

Seriously though, these types of crimes are just going to become more common because the police aren’t going to do anything about it. Even if they stole your truck I doubt it would be a priority for them.

What inner tie rods are people running? Last time I swapped them I went with 555 but after bending one one the trail I’m wondering if the price difference for oem ones is the right move. It’s crazy tho… $33 vs $160237C365B-4452-4DA4-8FB2-3439578935E4.jpg

Well based on a recent article if a wa cop pulls behind you for speeding you can just run and they won't chase...
