Dumb question im sure tried searching for it too and couldnt find any answer i have the 3.4 v6 but why would you want to do this, doesnt the engine run at 180 stock and 170 with a napa thermostat why would you want it to run hotter or does it provide any performance gains? Sorry if this is a noob question

it should run closer to 190-195 stock, it needs to be this temp for your cats to work properly in turn means you pass smog and the engine will run as intended air/fuel ratio.

I had a bad thermostat that was running 180 or so and would not pass the cat test for smog because the cat was not warming up properly.

the hotter you can run it without over heating it or causing detonation etc the better the mpg. your power will fall off though with an increase in temps

Not rreally, they just run along the frame rail usung the two bolt holes on the side one one lower one I use for plate or swingout bumpers.. this bumper wiil only use the two side holes.. then the end is notched around the tubing. pretty simple. I thing the frame is 3 1/2" tall but I cut the plates to fit up around the factory shackle mounts too.. ill try to get one and ill post it in my fab thread

Got my CB working with an external speaker mounted where the clutch petal would be if I had one and cut my tailpipe because it was interfering with my leaf spring with 2" shackle.

Finished the swap from my factory buckets to a set of 2nd gen 4runner seats :D it's like a lazy boy stuffed in the truck. Now my back doesn't feel like it's breaking with every bump :p

They need custom mounts? And I'd imagine 2nd gen 4runner buckets would be just as uncomfortable. 2nd gen 4 runners are from the early 90s. What year did you get them out of?

just seafoamed my engine, 1/3 added to oil, 1/3 added to vacuum line, 1/3 added to gas tank...

it didnt smoke as much as i thought it would but it was a solid stream of smoke for about 2 min. now im about to go drive around a while and then do my oil change. sadly sense ive been jobless for 4 months its been about 9,000 miles since my last oil change :(

im also about to buy new brake pads/rotors, spark plugs, fuel filter, and a catalytic converter all from Rockauto.com which ill hopefully have shipped to me by next weekend so i can do them

Well not completely custom. They were close in dimensions. I had to take the feet off my factory seats and put the on the 4 runner seats. And the rear mounts required some modifications. They came out of a 94 model. There were different seat options available, but these were the best they offered. They are a night and day difference from the stock seats. Love em! :D I'll try and post up some pics later to show the difference
