glad to hear it's been a good rig. Always loved the body style of the newer rams and was wondering how they held up since my older one did really well. thanks! have a good time this weekend man!

Just as the trail had some gatekeepers obstacles near the bottom, so too were there some larger gatekeepers before we could proceed much further towards the top. Several of these offered easier and harder lines, our approach summarized nicely by this meme...

The truck’s first alignment since 2004. The alignment tech said “Your alignment was so bad, we couldn’t get an initial reading.” They had to adjust my SPC control arms to get a reading at all even though I had it set to 0 degrees of Caster. I had a small performance shop do the alignment, I know a Firestone would have no idea what to do with the control arms.

I asked for max caster, here’s what I got.

I changed everything and didn’t get an alignment. When the truck was last aligned in 2004 it was still stock everything. Now the truck was converted to 4WD, with SPC UCA’s, ICON 2.5’s front and rear, AllPro Standard Leafs, all new tie rods, and upper and lower ball joints.

lol you've done all that and never got an alignment until now...man, I'm surprised your tires don't look like hell.

Oh they do. The front wheels were worn on the edges to the point it was making whooshing sounds, like a bad wheel bearing. I rotated it to the rear to even it out hopefully.

You can tell which tire below was on the front and which was on the rear.

well...hopefully you don't wait so long to get an alignment in the future after doing front end work. Tires are expensive to be cutting their lifespan down because of poor alignment

I also told myself I’d replace those LBJ’s as preventative maintenance because I knew something would happen with them eventually. I ordered them and they sat on a shelf for months. Look where that got me.
