Yeah, doing the roof will make the biggest difference. And doing a layer of the actual sound deadening material, usually a thin foam of some kind like Dynaliner or Noico green or red sound insulation, will block most of the actual noise as well as provide a layer of insulation, keeping the interior cooler in summer and warmer in winter.

I need to do the roof of my Taco still, did the floor when I installed the vinyl flooring.

    Part 2

...we looked out over Saline Valley and watched the chaos that was this popular place on a Friday night. Saline Valley Road, North Pass, and Steel Pass were repeatedly illuminated by the army of people making their way to the Warm Springs for the long weekend.

We were glad to be alone up here, away from it all, enjoying the best of what Death Valley has to offer.

Eventually we found ourselves ready for bed - the stars bright above us, and another great day in the books. Except that the day wasn't, quite, in the books. As we climbed up the ladder, I setup the camera for a series of long exposures - and it wouldn't be until later that we could really enjoy the end of this amazing day!

watch us on Steel Pass, and in the even sketchier San Juan Canyon in

Cool, I like the Skidrow one and will likely go with that myself. Don't really feel like fabricating one.

How did you check for vacuum leak? Doesn't sound like a fuel issue if it gets better with more fuel demand.

Extra hands speed the process up. But you will probably be fine with a floor jack. It’s around 100 pounds. I had a buddy hold it up while I got the bolts started and then just tightened it all up

Awesome thanks, yeah @jp59inh replied to me in a PM saying pretty much the same thing - it was easier with a friend but should be doable with a floor jack. I'll give it a try on my own first and if that doesn't work I have a friend down the street that I can call to come over and help lol.

I’ve replaced all the hoses and used propane with a hose to go all over the place. Throttle body, brake booster, injectors etc.

wondering if it’s a small leak in the evap system that does not trigger a fault. My old Tacoma had a noticeably more vacuum on the tank when I took the cap off. Never thought much of it since it checks out good on OBD2 device.

I love my skid but it definitely needs some beef if you wind up with the weight of the truck on it.

I beefed mine up to box around the t case, and it's def much better.

I'm at the point where I would love to flat belly (or at least as close as you can). But I need a crawl box so I can clock the t-case.

Damn yeah that'll definitely do it haha. As you know, there's not much clearance between the skid and the t-case so when I smacked mine hard on a rock it pushed it up enough to rub against the tcase. Made some awful sounds on the freeway ride home after that trail run...I thought something bad was seriously wrong. Was happy to see it was just the skid rubbing the case. Had a shop press it flat again and haven't had that issue since, but those reinforcements you put on will definitely keep that from ever happening

The reason I put those on was because the same thing had happened to me. And I have gotten damn close to it touching again, even with the reinforcements. :anonymous:

Another big dumb question, but when you have skids all the way down the underside of the truck, how do you clean out mud and dirt? Just don't?

    Stock again- rip slug
powerwash above them and let it drain for a quick wash, or remove and clean with a full clean i'm assuming. Most are bolt on

If I get under the truck I can still spray between the skids and equipment, just not as easily. But yeah things tend to stay more dirty under there unless you take the skids off and really give it a good cleaning.
