like the title says, if you have had to replace any parts on your tacoma that you normally would not have to, what are the parts and at how many miles. spark plugs, filters, and all the standard preventative maintenance stuff does not count. im talking like any pumps go out, transmissions, etc

my buddy has an 06 cummins 2500, we were on a cummins forum and saw a thread like this...you will not believe the number of trannys, injectors, and even motors some guys have gone through before they even hit 75k-100k! could just be the nature of the beast though...

Driver side window fell out of the clips. Had to have that replaced along with broken clips. I also had an 02 sensor replaced so far on my 09.

I haven't had it replaced yet, but my cigarette lighter/power adapter socket comes out of it's "home" everytime I hit a bump. It's a little annoying but not a big enough deal to make a special trip to the Stealership.

I only had to replace normal wear items on my 98; brakes, shocks, muffler, etc. I had no major component failures.

    Replaced:
    1. Driver's trim piece below/around the remote mirror controls during the first summer (less than 10K miles due to warping from the heat).
    2. Passenger Rear window control (window doesn't always go up from that control...common problem with the DC's). And the replacement randomly doesn't work either. Mileage: Approx 20K+ miles.

    Need to replace:
Driver's Front Differential Output Bearing. Discovered at 88K miles that it's very, very worn. Since I'm way out of warranty, we'll see how long it lasts...

    No other non wear-and-tear items.

That is odd... if the engine has not been abused and the oil has been changed regularly, a timing chain should last the life of the engine, and Toyota engines can go 300k miles or more.

Nothing unusual has needed replacing on my 06 with 46k miles -- just tires, filters, fluids, etc.

There's a TSB for the timing chain cover leak.
