You need to upgrade to some Deavers in the rear.

Alright, so I completed my move. I hauled roughly 3000lbs and approximately 400lbs in the bed for almost 2000 miles. I drove through Texas, Arkansas, the endless mountains of Tennessee, Virginia as well as Pennsylvania and Northern New Jersey. Currently residing in the hills of Northern LI in Sound Beach. The truck drove like a champ the entire way. The trailer was packed to the brim with very heavy furniture.

Not sure what your setup is, but I have a 10 leaf spring setup from Deaver as well as nitroshocks. The rear setup was absolutely integral to making this happen. Also not sure about how much weight you're hauling, but I stayed at 60mph the entire time to be safe. When going uphill, make sure you get in the correct gear, I was usually at 2500 rpm at the uphill climbs and the truck instinctively held the gear as long until I reached the top of the mountains. Made it to the top every time without having to downshift. Also make sure you have a trailer with some sort of braking assistance (if you're using a uhaul 6x12, this comes standard if I remember correctly). The 6x12 I used had a manual brake assist built in. It really helps if you need to brake on a downhill road.

Did you shift it yourself going uphill? Going to drive through alabama, Tenn, MO, and NE which has hills but no mountains.

Last time I checked those were the smokey mountains off I-40 in TN as well as the Blue Ridge Mountains on I-81 in VA. Not sure what hills you're referring to.

Spent last weekend in SoCal riding the coast. Missed the brutal heatwave. Thankfully.

I hauled an old 40 foot culvert pipe to the scrap yard. Being packed with gravel, I think I overloaded my trailer a bit, but the truck did fine. Scrap yards are fun!

No pics, but I just got done unloading a bunch of snacks for my daughter’s summer camp at school. Stacked to the top of the bed rails with 2000 ice pops, 40 lbs of tortilla chips, and about 20 lbs each of pretzels, animal crackers and cheese balls. I make a run like that about 6 times a year between summer camp and the after school program during the school year.

Did not take any pics. Hauled my daughter's stuff, from my house and storage facility to her new residence.

Used a 6x12 U-haul trailer loaded to almost bursting. Washer, dryer, 7 ft book/nick-knack shelf and a few odds and ends in the bed. Not much squat and did not hit the stops at all. Ride was smooth both ways.
Had no problems other than some sway when I hit construction and trailer started riding uneven payments and ruts. Just dropped speed for 3 or 4 miles and it smoothed out. Back up to "normal" speed once I was back to cleaner roads. I would have expected this with most any trailer.
Ran about 65 average speed down and 75-ish back; netted about 13 MPG round trip. This was limiting to 4th with ECT down and 5th with ECT back home.
