I took down a rotten beach tree in my front yard and the Taco hauled it all off to be pilled up on the back of our property. I think the pictures above were one of my last loads when I was getting tired of making trips so I loaded her a little higher. The truck handled the work like a champ.

I want to see fleets of these trucks being loaded with deliveries at the docks so they can be worked hard the next day.

Joy of a jeep, all the fuel economy of a truck, none of the utility. My buddy let me borrow his 2016 to bring home my new couch and love seat this weekend.

You'd be in the same boat I think. I have a 3.5 hp gas motor and an electric trolling motor. Add in tackle box and rods your only going to fit two people. I have the 10 foot model, they make an eight but can't imagine fitting two adults on that.

I've had my Tacoma for about a year and this was its first heavy load. 1/4 yard of 1/2" rock. Came to about 1000 pounds payload between rocks + bedmat + me. It pleasantly surprised me how little the rear sagged (stock suspension) and how the front tires didn't feel like they were floating on the pavement. The truck handled the three mile trip from the landscape yard to my house just fine.

Mbrp exhaust. Cold air intake. A crap load of high end audio waiting to go in. Lift, tires, skidplates coming in the next month.

I put 1080 lbs of cheap fake hardwood flooring in my 2016 trd offroad 6spd manual plus the 300 lbs of crap that always rides back there. Yes it was on the bumpstops, yes it was sketchy, yes it survived, no its not something I'd do unless I have to.

no pics, because I'm generally working, not being vain.

15 sheets of 3/4" T/G OSB. googla says they weigh 80 lbs each. so 1200lbs. took it like a champ. probably wouldn't want much more than that though
    100 2x4x10
maybe 20 or so, 2x6x16. that was sketchy since 8 feet of it was hanging out the back of the bed! haha.

not all at the same time, these 3 were separate trips.

What is that thing in your hitch, where do I get one, and how much weight can it handle?

I bought one of them for my dad. it works great. you can go bed height like that poster has, or flip around the one piece and you'll be at roof height. here's a link for the one I got for him. https://www.etrailer.com/Hitch-Cargo-Carrier/Darby/DTA944.html
