I wonder if it's possible to swap out the Tacoma cluster for a 2000 4Runner cluster (the closest one I've found that seems to have the same instruments in black and the LCD odometer). No idea, though, if the shape is exactly the same.

I'm going to have to add that I don't like the seat belts. The driver side was replaced right before I bought my truck with a new one from Toyota. I have to mind it to prevent slamming it in the door

Best of luck on that being possible. I personally have two 2000 4runners, and I like the way those look compared to the white gauges. Also like them more then the Tacomas made before 2000. That said I wish I knew if they were swap able haha. I would look into it myself if I had a newer model 1st gen.

So...a few weeks ago I complained that I hate the weak door handles on these trucks because my passenger side one broke and was a pain in the ass to replace?

Well, 2 weeks later and tonight my driver's side handle breaks. WTF TOYOTA

I guess I should be happy that it waited to break until after I fixed the other one, or else I wouldn't be able to get in my truck. Silver linings...

Just dumb luck that after 14 years, both decided to snap within a couple weeks of one another.
