Can second this. I don't have them on my personal vehicle, but for work this is the tire of choice for our FJ and Tacoma. No serious off roading, but about 40% of their life is spent on forestry roads. No issues so far.

I don't off-road much and I happen to like the look of outlined white letters, so I opted for the Goodyear Wrangler w/ Kevlar for my '16 Sport. So far, I've been happy with the ride. We'll see how they handle the NE winter conditions coming shortly.

I think you need to identify your intended driving habits/conditions and choose accordingly.

I spoke to three tire dealers and they all said the BFG's can't be beat for treadlife. They all said they are the best AT tire out there. Talked me out of Goodyear Duratech.

I had a set of Goodyear Duratracs on my last truck (Ram 1500), kept them rotated every 6k - 8k miles, and got 60k miles out of them... Best tire I've ever owned. Will be putting the load C's on my Tacoma once I need a new set.

Would love to put on a set of Toyo Open County R/T, they look bad ass, but they only come in load E, which I agree is over kill for this truck and the transmission.

I've got ST Maxx's on my Tacoma. Great tire.

I have AT3's on my 98 Jeep Cherokee and they frankly suck. I had to put the Cherokee in 4wd to get traction on dew drop wet grass while going over a 3 foot ditch in a ranch field. Pretty piss poor traction on those tires. They are really a street biased tire.

I bought them on sale to replace worn out Dynapro's. What a mistake that was.

If you want a better ride and longer lasting tire, I'd vote for the Michelins.

I still have my stock GY's, but have run the BFG AT, Toyo Open Country AT and the Pro comp AT's, out of them I prefer the Toyo AT's for mostly on-road noise level and they grip really well in the dirt when you need them to. They lasted about 50k as well. toy's new AT's have a new tread pattern so I can't attest to the road noise or comfort compared to the previous version but the ones I had were awesome.

Personally when I change tires, this time I think I am going to try the new Nitto Ridge Grapplers that someone mentioned. They are new but seem to be gaining a lot of attention and look like a good setup.

I've been quite happy with my general grabber at2. Have had not one problem with them. Just ordered another one for my spare wheel I just picked up.
