@IPNPULZ 3400. Original house part was built in mid 70's, we added on 1700 sq ft. House looks like a 2 pointed fork because I live on the top of a cul de sac. Giant center patio in between the two extensions and I'm on an acre total. It may have been a little overkill but whatever. My electrical box is 2 coffins side by side:rofl:It's Vegas though, go big or go home.

Yeah I insulated the hell out of it and installed a mini-split AC to keep it reasonable in the summer. It makes it nice when you need to work on a vehicle in the summer and it only draws 9.5a max. It's only ~680sq ft with 8' ceilings.

Yeah your house is over 2x my house and I'm running a single 3.5t 10SEER unit on the house. The duct work isn't sufficient for anything larger so I can only go more efficient.

Ah, yey the garage came with the house and it has no insulation. That is a nice setup, maybe in the future for me.

Same here. I'm a nut though and ripped down the drywall in the uninsulated walls so I could wire and insulate. It sounded quick and easy in my head. :notsure: Insulating the walls made the biggest difference. When I insulated the attic I didn't notice much difference. I even did a radiant barrier below the roof thinking that would help. The spray foam insulation is where it's at. The R value is amazing with that stuff.

Yep, foam is great. My whole addition of 1700 sq ft is built out of Omni Block:https://www.omniblock.com/ First house to use it in Nevada. We were their guinea pig for testing out here in Vegas for heat. Great stuff, takes I think 7 hours for heat to pass through to the inside and by then direct sun is gone so it just dissipates outside.

Wow that's awesome. I'm not sure if it was the same product, but I've seen one house built using that in AZ. I'm not sure why it's not more popular considering the area and how important insulation is. It drives me crazy seeing houses built with minimal insulation and no eaves to shade the house.

The "outside" is in my attic. I'm more concerned with how hot my attic is. I already knows it's hot as balls outside

same here. I dont have overhangs for windows but all my shades have a reflective backing to push sunlight outwards. On the old part of the house, the rooms are insulated but not the closets :der: my walk in closet usually gets to 100~ on bad days, always have to keep the door shut.

Garage door open. Probably 100% humidity. Gave up long ago measuring alabama humidity.

Anyone have a harbor freight mobile garage that they use to cover their truck? Does it work well? The new 17 F-150 gets kept in the garage and there isn't enough space for the Taco. I just hate coming out and even with a sunshade its hot as shit in the truck.

I've wondered how well those hold up. I'd like to keep the ecoboost shaded since it won't fit under a 7' garage door. :homer:

Yes, it's "return air" (inlet to the air handler) vs. cooled air (air handler outlet); newer systems running R410A refrigerant can achieve a 25°+ F drop--I just checked mine and saw a 26.1° differential t'ween the in (58.3°) and out (84.4°) plenums--98.5° F outdoors...

My neighbor just bought 3 like a week ago because they were so cheap at the time, I think $97, reg price was $199 i think. He has a 4th he's used for years. From what I've seen it's thin aluminum tubing as the frame and a "cheap fabric" is what he said to me. It did seem a little thin, but I think it would work. I could always use a different fabric though.
The F-150 is getting babied all the time, I think the taco needs a little love too
