Trying to figure out the best option for an upgrade, I have an 08 Pre-Runner V6, but my radio doesnt have an AUX port so I need to upgrade [IMG]

I want a double din screen w/ an AUX port and bluetooth (optional).

Whats my best option, going aftermarket or try to find a double din from a donor truck from a new model?

Aftermarket is always a better choice. You have flexibility and newer technology. A friend's 2009 RAV4 with the JBL system doesn't even support A2DP Bluetooth music transfer. Everything you need to do the install is available online or in your better car audio shops.

So a retrofit of a 2013 Taco headunit isnt recommended?
I've seen quite a few threads about it and it looks nice

You're more than welcome to try. You will need to splice wires as it's my understanding that the 2013 is a bit different.

Having said that, I have one that only has a couple months of use on it. Perhaps you'd like to buy it ;)

That would be a good temporary thing as I gather parts, would you happen to have a link for one? Is it an OEM adapter or aftermarket?

I have an 09 that has a terrible radio, this is good info. I might have to give this a try but Ill need to find somebody who can do the install, I'm challenged when it comes to things electrical.
