What M/Ts do you recomend???

I'm hearing that the performance of these tires are different on the 2nd gen tacomas than they are on the 1st gens. If anyone with these tires on a 1st gen can post some input, that would be great.

 

I had the TOYO M/Ts on my Jeep Rubicon and loved them

 

Hard packed snow on the roadways after they plow...they suck.
I think that can be said about any M/T tire.

 

Anybody know how these tires perform in snow?

 

I can tell ya that the Toyo MT just tear it up, snow mud, dirt, tuff tires!! costly , but well worth the $$$$$$!!

 

I had a buddy with Toyo M/Ts on his ruby and he loved em!

 

What about the Hankook MT's....
I hear they do awsome in the snow and just about everywhere else.

 

The Hankooks are still fairily new but i've heard great things from a couple guys on here...

i have the Goodyear MT/R's and their great on the street and they dig like crazy in the mud

 

Isn't the treat pattern on the MTR's similar to the Toyo M/Ts?

 

How about Firestone Destination M/T's?

Around here the only wise choice would be the GoodYear Wrangler DuraTracs. When you have snow 7 months out of 12, you've got to make a decision.

I rock out with the Maxxis Big horn MT's Great in the mud, little loud on the street, and good in the snow I can still break them lose though but stop times are very good.

I'd agree on this - most serious wheelers I've talked with maintain BFG is a fine tire, but overrated. I hear a lot more raving about lesser known brands like Yokohama, Toyo, and Hankook.

 

Tim... that picture in your sig is rough. It made me cringe and gave me the pucker factor. ouch.
