I am averaging 17.4 MPG. I live in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and my driving is roughly 50/50 city VS highway.

I have an 08 Doublecab Prerunner SR5 (NOT FWD or TRD).

I bought this 009-1_a71ee28877812ed60c084c60c354e7a917fccdc6.jpg to drive back n forth every day to work and around town because my tacoma is getting 10-12 highway miles in the last 3 months! This sux and im sick of it. My new one gets way better fuel econ and its a bigger tacoma!

after some more driving and math I can't get better then 17 highway at 75mph. the tires arnt much different than stock. have a 06 4x4 trd sport DC auto with two sand tubes under the roll up cover. I know the midwest corngas is crap with all the ethanal but even when I filled up on ohio 93 I got 17. could it be an O2 sensor or MAF sensor outt of wack? been thinking about pulling my wideband out of my STi just to see what kind of AFRs im getting.

    I'm only getting 14.5 mpg, that's with 75% Highway/25% City driving.

14 gallons or so. 16 at best.

I should have bought a Dodge Cummins. More truck, better fuel mileage, and the ladies like a diesel. This puny 08 Tacoma has one thing going for it: it's manueravable.....can't think of much else....it's got a pos plastic built bed WTF?

Maybe you should trade it, then:) No use driving what doesn't make you happy.

    Curious, though. 6spd or 5spd?

Dodge diesel less fuel mileage, body etc not as well put together, less comfortable, harder to park, hauls more, tows more, less reliable, babe magnet???. Each truck or vehicle has its niche, how can you compare apples with artichoke's?

My truck on the highway averages 19-20 mpg, staying away from the corn fuel and overall average at 18. Driving style makes a big difference.

I have a 2.7 4x4 Access Cab and I get about 19-21 mpg in mixed driving. I haven't taken it on a highway trip yet, but I assume I'll get a few more mpgs out on the open road.

Consistently 23.8 MPG mixed driving. '09 4-cyl 2WD 5-spd. Hard tonneau cover weight may be offsetting gains.

Same as me (minus the cap), and I get 17-21mpg depending on time of year, driving style, temp, fuel type, etc. I've never gone below 16mpg and that was all offroad, dirtroad, and city driving.

06 TRD Sport Access Cab 4x4 V6 w/ auto, averaging right at 18.5 mixed on just the cheap regular gas.

Just did my 30K service and switched everything to synthetic fluids but the LSD diff. I'll do a few more tanks of regular to see if the service affected anything, then I'll try 5 or 10 tanks of the premium.
