Mobil 1, recommended wt., changed every 10k.

There is no need for any boutique oil in a street driven truck.

If you don't believe in extended oil changes, either

    1) run dino and continue to waste resources with short interval changes

    2) get an independent lab test of your syn of choice at 5k and let them tell you you have another 5-7k left, and become a believer.

I'm an Amsoil Dealer and am converting everything over to Amsoil Products. I use 5w30 Signature Series Amsoil which can go to 25K but I change mine at 10K. If I drove it in more sever conditions would probably only do 7.5k. Also don't forget the oil filter needs to be a 10k filter if you decide to go over the 5k range. If anyone would like Amsoil go to Amsoil.com and type in Dealer # 5152583!! Message me if you want more info!!

Mobile one syn High Mileage only because I can get it at Walmart for a good price. Use Mobile One oil filter to. A friend told me to use high mileage in all of the cars and can't remember why something about getting around regulations I think but he is a motor head and I trust his judgment so that is what I use.

I just sent my first sample of Amsoil on myself to compare to M1 Extended Performance. I’ll post it when I get it.

Only for your wallet, as long as it's recycled correctly.

Synthetic all the way. We get hotter than hell summers, and colder than hell winters here!

I am now a Amsoil convert, as most other brands are not truly a Full Synthetic, even though they say they are. Read up on it.

I only change my oil twice a year so I'm good on the wallet side. And I do take my oil to the oil collection bin at the local auto parts store. Hopefully they manage it well after that.

Amsoil 5w30 signature series. Ive messed around with a few different oils since I got the truck, and amsoil seems the best all around by far. Some observations on different oils:

Valvoline 5w30 syn (3 oil changes) - avg mpg 17.49, Truck seemed to get “loose” once warm. Power was meh

Penzoil 5w30 syn (5 oil changes) - avg mpg 17.98, Truck felt good with this oil. Less engine noise

Royal purple 5w30 syn (2 oil changes) - avg mpg 18.26, also felt loose when warm but was smooth. Seemed like I had more power, but I also did plugs when I switched to this oil for the first time so who knows for sure.

Amsoil signature 5w30 syn (2 oil changes) - avg mpg 18.11, Truck feels/sounds stronger somehow. Power feels the same or slightly better than royal purple. Smooth revs and less “felt” heat when standing next to Truck while running. Great stuff, I will continue to run it.

Whatevers on sale. Ain't no way in hell I'm paying $9qt for a boutique oil for a truck that loafs along at 2krpm. My local Rural King had Peak synthetic on clearance for $9 a 5qt jug. Didn't have any 5-30 but bought 5 jugs of 10-30 for the ol Mustang.
