As I mentioned, I will be switching to full synthetic on my next change. I have been changing every 5000 and plan to continue that same schedule. It seems as there are plenty of good options out there. Right now I'm leaning towards the Mobil 1. I do appreciate everybody's input though.

you cant go wrong with mobil 1, I was like you for the longest time I debated and researched oils. I use mobil 1 for all my other fluids minus the oil. the main reason I stuck with penzoil and is because its what me and my family have always used and we have got many many miles out of it. the penzoil ultra I use now is one of the best out there IMO, but the only drawback is availability which is why I order 3 or 4 at a time. Go with the mobil 1 and I can assure you, you wont be let down:thumbsup:

Suggestion: You need to make this thread survey or look at the result of the other 1.456x10^346 oil threads. :D

If the search function was easier I would use it more often. Maybe I'm just an idiot but searching for something here never gets me any useful results.

Mobil 1 5W30 synthetic, made the switch from conv at 189K. No issues.

I once made the mistake of running conv 10W40. It ran smoother and quieter but I swear it felt sluggish and used more fuel.

I go to the stealership and get ‘Toyota’ brand oil. I swear it looks like a Mobil 1 container with a Toyota sticker on it.

It wouldn't surprise me. I'm sure it's just like your private label stuff from grocery stores. Made by someone else branded to your own.

I've been running 5W-30 Castrol Syntec as my local parts store always has it on sale. I only drive 7 miles round trip to work, so I was changing it at 3,000 miles as I worried about contamination. I had my used oil analyzed and got good numbers back. Sample had .5% fuel in it, but it was recommended I resample at 5,000.

Will be one change a year for me. :D

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
Been putting full synth in since it hit 20kmi... Pushing 93kmi now or so.

I used to used Mobil 1... truck started burning it. Switched to Pennzoil this last change and used STP oil treatment and no burn yet. I'll be using 5w-30 Amsoil on the next change. Same stuff I put in the Miata.
