just bought a new Tacoma OR. Looking for step downs for it. Wanting to see what's out there before just purchasing a set.

You'll have to decide the type of functionality you need I guess, but here's what I have and they serve my purpose and look good IMO too.

To get in and out of the vehicle lol what brand are those? I've looked on realtruck.com at a couple different ones I can't decide if I want that extra bar or kind of a sleek style.

They're Preditors which came from Toyota. Lol ? ....some folks use them as steps of course, but also others use different styles that they feel will add to extra body protection from door dings. Others just for "looks" and others buy "sliders" to help protect truck body while wheeling. Lol right back at ya

Yeah I guess I'd use them for a little bit of everything. Looks & for my daughter to get in and out of. Then again just extra protection.

I got the 2005 - 2015 OEM ones. They fit the 17 perfect. I personally haven't used them as a step yet. They are a little high. I just step past them into the truck. My 4 year old son uses them as a step though. They look good and they are fairly cheap too. I paid $325 shipped from a OEM dealer off of eBay.

The 2017 version is just slightly different than the 2015. I'll have to take better pics of them.

Mine are Body Armor Rock Steps.

I like them, but with the lift, they're a little high if my copilot is in a skirt.

The 05-15 steps/running boards are part # PT212-35055 (DC) and will fit the 2016-2017 models as I understand it. Certainly a decent option.

As of 2016+ the new version is part # PT767-35160 (DC) and they're single-piece cast aluminum with a textured grip coating. They're also a fair bit more expensive. Shop around though, I was able to get mine from an ebay Toyota dealer for $575 shipped to my door. Local dealer price was $638+tax; not bad given list price is $750. They're quite solid and don't flex or give when standing on them, but I'm no linebacker either. They do the job I bought them for, which is primarily to deliver instant karma to anyone carelessly flinging their car door open in the parking spot next to me.

    Very good price.

For clarification those look like the 5" Oval Tube Steps, part # PT767-35112, which are different from the two versions of the Running Boards referenced above.

3" main tube N-Fabs. Got in a chat room on autoanything and haggled the guy down to $329 with free shipping. Killer deal I thought.

I looked at those too. Found some bad reviews though. Not that they're bad themselves, but that the hardware provide with them was extremely low grade and when torquing them to specs a lot of issues occurred. Look into that.
