Thanks to god only knows what gas prices have gone down and I can afford to put 91 octane gas in my Taco. I must say, the difference between 87 and 91 is tremendous in this car. Anyone else feel the same difference?.......I saw coming home tonight regular for $2.71 and Premium for$3.00. I hope gas keeps getting cheaper, I know it wont last but do appreciate it while its cheaper.

I use 93 octane. The difference between 87, 89 and 93 is tremendous.

Yeah, we don't have any higher than 91 Octane gas without using racing fuel out here... Damn LA's Smog problem

IDK what you guys are feeling, but all octane is the amount you can compress fuel before it explodes....example, in a 8:1 compression engine you compress the A/F mix eight times, spark ignites, boom. In a 13:1 engine, you compress the A/F mix about 11 1/2 times, then boom, then your spark fires.....you can see where that wouldnt be good. Unless your running a supercharger or incredibly advanced timing, you should see roughly the same performance.....

For the record, I paid 2.37 on tuesday....Im a happy man.

My truck runs like shit on 87 since I have been using 93. Gas here is 2.36, it went from 4.19 to 2.36 in about 3 months, I hope it doesn't go back up again.

I use 90 since its the highest I can get here. The way I figure it's only 20 cents more and if you fill at empty that's only an extra 4 dollars. I am willing to pay the little bit extra to have my truck run better.

For what I do with it, it gets me to point A-B with plenty of power and no problems.

87 at just under $3 in So California.

With the amount of driving I do those $4 to $6 per week does add up.

I talked to someone working in the refinery.

Do put higher octane gas FOR long trips. But city driving should be fine with recommended octane.

91 octane in CA. (which is hit or miss, probably closer to 89)

100 octane once in awhile for the TRD S/C. ($6.00 at the pump in San Jose)
