what say you on oil?

Mobil1 and a Toyota filter every 8-10k or 6mo. I was thinking about getting the M1 'High Mileage' at the last change but regular M1 was on sale. Might get something else next time though.

As long as its proper 5w-30 synthetic I doubt there's much difference. The Toyota filter is the best by far, though. When I saw the comparison videos over in Tech Chat I was convinced and haven't used anything else.

 

How do you all know if one oil brand is actually better than the next as long as it is not a general dollar store brand. I think the key is regular oil changes at about 5,000 miles.

Is there any benefit to switching to a synthetic like Mobil 1 after using Castrol High Milage on an engine with over 200k miles?

 

As long as you're using the Mobil 1 High Mileage you will be fine.

225k miles, doesn't burn or leak a bit of oil, and I'm saving money by not buying into the overpriced shit.

 

I agree with this, although I buy synthetic and change less often so it probably comes out close to even.

 

I hear claims that pennzoil yellow bottle is the best cleaning oil out there. Anyone else hear such a claim

 

I've heard they're all the best I use castrol synthetic and will switch to amsoil if a dealer ever gets back up with me, Toyota filters are the way to go though buy like a 10 pack from the dealership once a year
