Title says it all. I plan to get parts from ECGS and then drop it off to get done. Recommendations in middle TN?

    Thanks!

Order the assembled 3rd members from them and do it yourself. Super easy

Any write ups? Ive never messed with this part of the truck, beyond CV axle servicing.

For the rear all you do is the 4 bolts connecting the ds to the diff and then 8 or so bolts around the diff and the 3rd slides out of the axle housing. For the front, just pull the cv's out of the diff and the ds off the diff then a few bolts and the diff should come out. Not hard

So I'm guessing I would order the new ones from ECGS, then send back the cores? Would I get slammed on shipping?

Correct. And I don't think shipping is more than 50Ish each way

Well hell. I didn't know it was that easy. Do I need to pull the rear axles out some in order to remove the rear third?

I am still on the fence about 4.56 or 4.88. It sees a lot of 70mph highway runs, and has the ARB, full toolbox and bud built skids/belly. But the diff calc says I need "4.43s" for my tire size. So I'm guessing I could restore my MPG to stock levels and account for the extra weight also, with the 4.56s

    Extended cab 1st gen? 4.56's.

I'm a 4door 2nd gen with front and rear bumpers, sliders, 35's, full sized spare on a spare tire carrier, a bed rack, and a tool box full. I'm planning on going 4.56's. 4.88's would be over geared and you'd be running like 3300-3500rpm at 75
