    I have a 3" lift and am running 285 70 17
wut 17" rim size tire would be the best size for running winter tires with? For best gas mileage and safety.
    Thanks guys!

IMO, I would buy some steelies and put 265/70/16 on them. Preferably Michlen Ice X. You get better selection with 16's for winter tires.

Or see if you can find them in 255x80R17. That way you're still running a 33" but you got the pizza slicers to carve down to the pavement/ice.

Or like was said above 265x70R17.

    stock 17's is 265/65/17

winters ideally best size would be 245/75/16

not a huge difference as far as sizes go, more important would be an actual winter tire...

Yeah but that's a tiny tire for a 3" lift. If you don't mind it looking kinda dorky giver shit.
