Pioneer TS-A6972R, 6X9" in the front doors and Pioneer TX-A1672R, 6.5" in the rear access doors. Left the stock tweeters wired in. These are mounted in Taco Tunes speaker mounts. Running off the stock head unit. Sounds great to me and never turn it past 25 on the volume with good bass and mid's all the way through the rest of the spectrum from these 3-way designed speakers.

nice thanks, i still have the stock head unit, but am looking for a nav/dvd unit to get, before i wire in the sub and all. im going to play around with my speakers and see if i can get them to work better, if not i will be experimenting with other brands.

Bump... surely more than three people have changed out the door speakers. :)

I'm about to get into this and would love to hear what everyone has used in the doors and if they are still satisfied with them? Thanks.

Get a look at the stock speakers with the paper cone, and quarter sized magnets and it will not take long to replace.;)

For what it's worth I make more Tacoma baffles for the Pioneer Premier TS-C720PRS components than for all others combined!

Hey, Marv! Do you have a place that you would recommend buying those from?

I would normally say me  however my distributor only handles "Pioneer" and not "Premier" so when I need a set for an install I just get them on eBay (usually sonicelctronics). :)

I will have to hold that offer for now... I need to wait till I have money to give you. Thanks for the heads up though!!!

I am really just looking for one that does GPS, DVD, iPod Audio, and back up camera. Aside from that, I'm not real picky. :p
