I'm not really sure because you have a 16...it may be different than the previous years. But I got a head unit off crutchfield and they told me which steering wheel interface to buy. Installed it myself and it was a breeze. You can even program it so the buttons do whatever you want them to...Kinda neat.

Anyways, if you want to add subs and amps just be sure to look into which head units will allow you to do it in a relatively seamless way. For mine, I ended up having to buy something extra because I didn't have enough preamp outputs.

Your stock head unit may work fine. It's so new I doubt very many people have gutted the systems yet. Sorry I'm not much help, after the head unit I had everything else installed by an audio shop . Does your owners manual say anything about the head unit specs?

I just finished the sound deadening and running all the cables for my amp/sub/audiocontroller setup. I am going to do a whole build thread when I get it done. I have done Dynamat, DynaLiner and acoustic foam everywhere except the headliner area, but I will do that later. I am running Focal Performance 165V components with the 165 coaxials. I have a Kenwood Excelon KFC-1000W sub with an Alpine PDR-V75 amp with a AudioControl LC6i to use the stock headunit. I am wiring running the speaker wire to the doors tomorrow and installing everything.

so currently the system is :

stock deck [SR5 Entune non-JBL] playing 320kbps MP3's from usb stick

Dayton RS75 3" midrange in stock tweeter location. crossed about 400Hz up with a single 100µF 50V capacitor in series on the positive lead

    running in parallel with

Memphis 15-PRX69c with tweeter in sail panel using the included crossover network.

deck has all power faded to front.

measured with a Dayton Omnimic calibrated system. 1/6 octave smoothing. microphone facing windshield at drivers head height in drivers seat. closed vehicle, not running in closed garage.

amp goes in eventually, will get to EQ more then. decent enough now with most music. stage is right at dash height.

i don't know how you all tolerate people talking to your ankles

Replaced stock radio with a Pioneer AVH series head unit. Focal component system w/a 10" sub powered by 2 Alpine amps. Weathertech floor mats. Line-X'd the bed. SCS Ray 10’s, Installed an A.R.E. What year rig do you have? I put the same Focals in my doors but the 5&1/4"rs. If I want to put the 165's in, I'm rather going to have to fabricate something or buy the kick panel enclosures.

I just put in Quinn Acoustics speakers (Component up front, all-in-one speakers in the back), A Kenwood Double Din Deck, a sub, and powered it all with a beastly 5 channel Kenwood amp. I am absolutely loving it! If you can, I would build a box to the specs of the sub and what you want. I built a big box for my rig, but all the information I have read on this forum has been golden. No bad advice at all. I didn't have a store in town that I would walk into that provided Focal otherwise I would have considered them. But I have run Kenwood Speakers, Kicker, and Quinn Acoustics all with great success. For subs I have run Kicker and Memphis audio and both bump. I love sound stuff!!

Wow, that's damn good for a stock deck, no amp, and only passive crossovers. That dip around 900Hz looks strange given you're running a 3" mid. Have you tried flipping the phase on the mid and re-measuring? There's definitely some phase cancellation going on - either directly from the speaker or reflections off interior objects.

I dig the beersmith app running. Homebrewing is a lot of fun.

i am sure there is tons of cancellation. i think the crossover for the components is your typical 3k-3.5kHz. mids are 400Hz-ish and up. the amp i have is a PPI 900.4 , decent on board crossovers. i plan to bandpass the 6x9's on their own channels and might use the component crossover on the mids/tweets on the other 2 channels [high passed from amp].

lots of tinkering to do. weather and work hindering as usual.

    thanks for the kind words

i am going to be running a polk audio DB6501 component set along with a dayton re75-4 3" fullrange speaker
the woofer will be bandpassed off my amp from 80hz-400hz or so, the dayton will be 400hz-4,000hz and then the polk tweeter will play from 4k hz on up to 23k hz.

Later on i may put an 8" woofer in the door and drop it down to 50hz.

don't go the Audiocontrol route, they are reported to be hissmakers with the stock radio

I've used a PAC 4 channel on a 2014 tundra with fairly low noise. bought the same for my upcoming amp install.

05 Access Cab with 80prs in the dash ran in standard mode, Helix DSP , JBL MS-A1004 & MS-A5001, Stereo Integrity TM65, KAXBLTWT tweets, and Dayton Reference HO 10" slated for the rear center hump. I may later go 4-way adding a pair of 2.75" Wavecor to the mix.

that is one pricey setup ^

    why the Helix vs miniDSP?

the wavecor looks pretty flat off axis. with DSP it won't matter though. might try those when i get tired of the dayton RS75's

I got a deal on a used Helix so I rolled with that. Plus I wanted the capability of 4-way if need be. The mini is good though. They're coming out with 6 to 8 soon. All of the equipment was bought when on sale so I didn't pay nowhere near retail. Plus I already had the deck and HO sub from a previous vehicle.

Tweets in stock location for now. I wanted a stealthy install as possible.
