That's what I've heard, I just didn't want to sound stupid if it wasn't true! But I agree, if it were me I'd either invest in some killer 10s or or really nice 8s.

My 8s are the JL microsubs, which are by no means top of the line, but they are pretty nice middle of the road I'd say. They sound better than really almost every pair of 10s I've heard. Everybody is shocked when they hear them and learn they're just 8s.

they are 148mm which is like 5.8 inches.A tight fit but will work good if you use 1/2 birch ply all around and use 2 round wooden dowls for bracing in the middle of the panel. They like .8cf sealed or 1.5ported. The thing i like about them is toss 400wrms they sound good, double that to 800wrms and they are still more than fine.

I have some other subs on the way as well that won't need much space. With these you can fit 3 12s in the rear with 2kw, only minor mods would be required and amps mounted under the driver/passanger front seats. They will cost about 2x what a triton costs though. The triton 10s fit without much hassle though.

Should be an issue as long as your willing to make some minor mods to allow for this to work. You need to achieve 2.2cf net. I know 1.75 is pretty easy to do, its pushing for that last 1/2 cf and some light stuffing and you will be set. The rear seat push in bracket needs to have a small spacer and slight longer bolts. About all that is required as it makes the back rest just a little more upright allow the top diminution of the box to be quite a bit bigger. The bottom can go up to about 8inches. @ZMan2k2 did something very similar to fit 2 of his triton12s but i have learnt a thing or 2 from his and where i can gain a little more

Will not come with a box, but would come with pretty good guide lines for you to build your own. ID build it and ship it but sadly that would cost a ton.

Stock deck is so weak I wouldn't bother with just speakers I would get a amp first. This is coming from experience.

I have the JL C2's in my front doors. They are amplified with an JL XD700. They sound really good but can be a little bright. I am currently running the treble set flat and they sound great now. Not sure how they would sound just driven by the head unit.

I'm about to start an audio upgrade on my '16 DC and chose the JBL GTO609c for the fronts and the GX962 for the rears. Still trying to figure out how to use the factory HU to get the most out of these.

Looks like a snug fit. Did you have to cut the child restraint hooks?

I didn't install it, but no, I believe they are still there.

There is one section that did require some cutting. It's covered with carpet in this photo, but it's the right angle allowing the top left corner of the sub to fit. I think the shop just had to cut a section about two inches long and about an inch high.

4 ohm Silver Flute W14 5.5" Midbass/midrange in the doors. Wool cones, cast baskets, butyl surrounds - outstanding value and great sound. Only $21 each from Madisound. Crossed at 125 Hz on the low end and 2 kHz on the high end although they should be comfortable playing higher.

Stereo Integrity M25 tweeters. These things sound fantastic and play super-low for a dome this size. I have them crossed at 2.5 kHz with a 12 dB/oct slope.

With spacers so they'll go in my 1st gen doors

In the doors. They have a sort of industrial look to them installed.

10 inch dual 4 ohm Sundown SD3. Easily the best sub I've ever owned. Even in a .5 cube (net) sealed enclosure it dispenses a very respectable bottom end in terms of both SQ and SPL.

In my 2013 DCSB I ran a Rockford 3Sixty.3, JL HD900.5, Hybrid Audio Legatia L6, L1 Pro, and a Morel Ultimo SC 102, with Hybrid Mirus for the rear fill. I have yet to install it into my 17 as I am looking to upgrade the amp. I may or may not have an obsession with sound....
