What speakers??

I have a 2001 ext cab Tacoma and I want to replace every speaker. What size and what's the best kind? Thanks

Opinions on the "best" speaker system are going to be more varied than opinions on the best oil.

 

What type of music are you listening to- some speakers are better for hard rocking stuff while others are better for reproducing the highs in classical for example. Are you running a decent head unit? How about an amp?

A lot of how your speakers sounds is going to be determined by how much work you put into sound deadening too. You don't need to strip out everything and cover every surface with sound deadener, but you need some, particularly on flat surfaces like doors.

You don't have to spend a fortune to have a stereo that sounds good these days. I ran JBLs in my '95 (the rear speakers are still in use in my VW); the '05 has Polks in it.
