No, 2nd gen springs no preload compressed more than stock springs at 1.25 inches of lift via preload over bumps its a fact because i was soo relieved when i drove it for the first time

I mean, you wrote some words here, but I still have no idea what you're trying to say. wtf does "preload over bumps" even mean?

Look, you put heavier weight springs (from a heavier 2nd gen) on your first gen. That's the same as increasing preload, like what you hate about the 5100s.

I have a way with words that makes them really hard to understand

and yes with 2nd gen springs it was stiff but not as stiff as stock with preload

You do know that Bilstein 5100s are meant to be slightly firmer than stock, for off road use right?

Preload them further and they become even more firm feeling than they already are.

If you off road, you want something firmer vs softer to keep your wheels on the ground.

You found something in between a soft OEM coilover and a 5100 coilover setup with too much preload in it; your 2nd gen coilovers.

You can easily dial down the preload to a level of firmness that you desire, at the sacrifice of ride height. Custom springs can alleviate this though by getting longer springs to create the lift cause again springs/leaf packs provide lift, not shocks themselves.

Shocks are only changed out to support a lifted/lowered vehicle to allow for that difference in travel (or lack thereof).

    Cool story

You should really work on your words so other people can understand you.

I have an 02 4cyl 4x4, just did a full OME upgrade through Toytec, it cost about $1200, and I had a shop install it for $600. I went with 881 coils. It gave me about 2.5 inches of lift, and is pretty stiff with just the shell, which weighs 350lbs. I just took a long road trip with a couple hundred pounds more weight in the back and that was the sweet spot. It sounds like the OME package likes to carry weight and work, as soon as I build out the back a little it will ride like a dream. 20191115_163917.jpg
The photo above is after the suspension upgrade, the photo below is before.
