I want to upgrade from the OEM tires (Toyo Open Country A31, P245/75R16) on my 2021 SR5 DCSB 2X4 Tacoma with tow package. I am not impressed with the performance of the Toyo and would like something with better wet/dry traction and higher standard load rating. Currently the Tacoma has been towing a 2021 Winnebago Micro Minnie 2108 (22’, 4,500 dry wt., 5,500 GVWR) with ease utilizing the Equal-i-zer WDH, Sumo springs and Redarc brake controller.
I have researched various tire models and specs and the more I delved into it the more flustered I am on the selection of a suitable tire for towing. There are three tires size options I’m trying to select from: 245/75R16, 265/70R16 and 265/75R16. The truck is my DD and mostly highway travel and the same for towing. Which tire size and brand/model for towing would you recommend for my truck and why?

I carry my pop up slide in camper which is around 1400lbs and use the Goodyear Duratrac 265 75 16 LT. It has 3400 lb load capacity I believe at 80psi. I usually run it around 65 psi when loaded and feels great. When I used stock tires at 45psi , it was so bouncy. I also run firestone bags though but tires make such a big difference.

    123/120Q E None 3,415 lbs 80 psi

Stock size and Michelin. Once you run them, you probably won’t go back to anything else for a pavement pounder. Defender LTX M&S or AT2.
