What to bring to an office potluck..?

I was just having the craving for fried food. All I found was fries. I'm debating to prepare them or do homework.

Ahhh get a crock pot. Put in a pound of browned ground beef. 2 cans of rotel tomatoes with chilies and two cans of cheese. Heat it all up and take it to work with ya woohoo!!!! Add a bag of scoops and your set

 

or how about homemade hamburger helper.

2 lbs of ground beef
1 onion
1 lg tub of sour cream
1 family size can cream of mushroom
1 lb of elbow macaroni

Season and brown the beef in a skillet with onions. drain the grease off. add sour cream and cream of mushroom warm it all up. Boil the macaroni while cooking the beef mixture. Stir the beef mixture into the macaroni (after draining the noodles of course) and wah-lah beef stroganoff. Always a hit at work. Only takes about 20 min to make.

7-layer bean dip is a good one too. You can probably buy some store made stuff if you don't feel like putting it together yourself. Buffalo wings, eggrolls, and deviled eggs are pretty popular in our office as well.

 

That sounds pretty good right there with a big ol' bag of tortilla chips. But, what kind of canned cheese are you talking about?

 

Cheddar like comes in the Campbells cans.

 

Ah, cool. I'm gonna give that a shot. Sounds like good snacking for Halloween eve.

 

I usually take one of a couple of dishes:
Green beans:
2 cans of french cut green beans (or add more cans and adjust for larger groups)
7 tablespoons of cider viniger
7 tablespoons suger
onion flakes
pinch of salt
Bacon! (don't use bacon bits, ever, they don't work. I like thick cut bacon and usually use about a half package since i snack a little on it)

Drain the beans partially, about half drained makes for fairly mild, less bean juice and it makes em a little stronger. when I make it at home, I use no juice but you can peel paint with em.


my other dish is hot german potato salad and usually I am told I am to bring it.
recipe is pretty general, I do have the actual recipe somewhere, but i've made it enough I just dump anymore.

Red potatoes, sliced and boiled
cook bacon (half a package or so), then brown some diced onion in the grease. Add a couple of tablespoons of flour to make a rue, stir constantly over low heat. add suger, a little salt, fine chopped parsley leaf and celery seed. pour in cider viniger and mix well over low heat, then pour over potatoes and stir in. I actually like to break up a portion of the potatoes to get a couple of textures. Serve warm.

 

I almost always do cheesy meatballs or sometimes BBQ ones.
