So after a (slightly) complicated buying process, I am now the proud owner of a 2012 Sr5 4x4 double cab Tacoma. Originally I had a Prerunner TRD Off road, but thankfully I was able to swap it out for the 4x4.

I am debating what to add to the truck first and I thought I would open the question here. My first thought is to add some of the TRD components that can be found on craigslist for cheap.

Later I might consider a more serious lift with new wheels/tires, but for now I was thinking of swapping in the bilstein shocks and struts (on craigslist for $200) and the TRD wheels and tires ($500). I am thinking I can talk them down on both of these (straight off a new Tacoma, they lifted it at about 1000 miles) and add a little to my truck's off road abilities for around $500.

My question is is this a worthwhile expenditure? I am thinking that swapping in the bilstein's would be a good move if I can get them for around $150 or so. For now the budget is pretty limited so I think grabbing the unwanted stock items off a new truck is a decent route. Any thoughts?

Don't bother if you're going to be lifting it later, put the 500 bucks or so towards a set of 5100s and an AAL and you'll spend roughly 400 and have a 100 to put towards tires and wheels.
