    Hello,

    What to do in Memphis:
    1) Not get shot.
    2) Beale Street/ Downtown.
A good restaurant to try is Restaurant Iris (albeit it's a bit upscale) http://www.restaurantiris.com/
If you're into it, Graceland can be interesting. (rule one comes into effect when going into that area of town.)

Places can be. Generally if you stay in the touristy places (downtown, beale st, graceland, etc.) The MPD presence is strong. The Memphis zoo is one of the best in the country. If you're into gambling, Tunica Ms is right down the road. The Memphis Redbirds (AAA affiliate of the St Louis Cardinals) play in downtown Memphis at AutoZone park.
Here's a picture of Beale Street

The Rum Boogie Cafe is really good. It's about halfway down Beale. Gibson Guitars has as tour of their place

    the Orpheum Theater is downtown.
