What tool to use to remove valve stem seals?

    What tool do y'all use to remove valve stem seals? I saw a video where he suggests using something like slip joint or lineman's pliers but it is a different engine and the valve stems are more easily accessible, i.e. not as recessed as in the Taco. I tried using needle nose pliers but didn't work very well exactly because the needle nose was too narrow to get a good grip on the seal. Perhaps something as long as needle nose but without the "needle" part...

    You should use the right tool for that job. The correct tool looks like a pliers but wraps around the valve guide seal. It makes it pretty easy to remove the seals. I personally use the snapon/bluepoint version.
