Wondering what tools people keep in their Tacomas. Would like to build up a bag of useful tools and don’t want to miss an opportunity to brainstorm with a bunch of Tacoma vets.

its been posted before numerous times so you could probably find even more in those threads but I have a large amount with me all the time and even more on trail.

    26 and 16" breaker bars
    1/4 3/8 1/2 drive ratchets
sockets shallow and deep from 8mm-32mm add 35mm for trail
ballpeen, dead blow, and 4lb sledge. (trail)
    18 and 26" pry bar
two sets, one ratcheting one non combo box end/open end wrench from 10mm-21mm
milwaukee mid torque impact wrench (adding for trail soon)
    4-10mm allen sockets
    linesmen pliers
    small bolt cutters
    diagonal side cutters
    needle nose pliers
    channel locks
1/4 drive screw driver adaptor for sockets
bottle jack + safe jack attachments
    hilift + base (trail)
various length extensions for all three ratchets
24" piece of rigid 3/4" pipe - saw this in a video on youtube good to have can always slide it over a ratchet to get more leverage, used for attitude adjustment on people, can be used for numerous things.

probably missing some stuff but thats most of it.
there's basically no space left under the seats in the back but oh well.

this thread was really useful when I put mine together

    Truck stuff
I carry Screw drivers, 1/4" 3/8" and 1/2" socket wrenches w/ standard and deep sockets, ratcheting wrenches, wire cutters and strippers, electrical tape and other wire accessories, fuses all carried in a Blue Ridge Overland Gear Tool Bag behind the back seat. Breaker bar, torque wrenches(2 sizes) in the same cubby behind the back seat. Zip ties, duck tape and some other stuff I cant think of right now. I try to have anything needed if something breaks out in the middle of nowhere to get back to at least a paved road.

I don't have a pic at the moment, but Ive kept an old tool box under my tonneau for 20 years. It's kinda fun. I love going to junk shops, second hand stores, etc. I enjoy the hunt. So my rule is never buy anything that I would care about if it gets stolen. I pick up old tools... wrenches, screw drivers, sockets, pliers, vice grips, etc. anything I find for cheap I toss it in. And I keep it in my "Tacoma tool box".

You know, nothing fancy or expensive. Tools I find for $.50 or $1.00. Toss em in the box. If the whole box gets stolen, no biggie. If someone borrows something or needs something, I pass it along and hunt for a replacement. And curiously I always have everything I need whenever I need it. If the whole box gets stolen, no biggie. Actually, it'd be kinda funny and I'd have to start all over. And that would add to the fun. But the funniest thing... in 20 years, it's never been stolen.

Sometimes worrying less pays dividends. And I've always had whatever I need whenever I need it.

I was thinking those pass through wrenches might be good to keep in my taco, but I've never used them. Has anyone here tried them?

all I have in my truck right now, just being a daily driver, is the stock bottle jack and tools it came with, and a set of jumper cables.

I'd like to add a compressor, something that can fit either under the rear seats or behind one of them.

When I tow the trailer/camper, I have a tool set that is in the camper. I also have a small tool bag full of little tools handy for my paramotor, which goes in the truck when I go flying.
