I'm having some trouble with my 2001 regular cab Taco 4x4 with 2.7L and 5 speed manual transmission.

It operates fine BUT the whine sound before I push the clutch in is getting noticeable. My mechanic (a guy I trust) says to check/change the trans oil. We will do this first before we try anything else. It only has 46,000 miles on it and my mehanic thinks it just may be low on oil. Any suggestions on what tranny oil to use in this? Thanks.

We always use 75/90 in our manual gear boxes, and diff's at work.
