    Toyota made an announcement.
    They said that if you will use the search function, it shall set you free... lol

    2012 has been the long time rumor... Then again the world's supposed to end then too... So my guess is, there may never be a redesign..

    Edit: LMAO... is that a Tundra and FJC Combined?

    No. It's a tundra concept from many moons ago. No one knows what it looks like.

    That's the Toyota FTX concept and actually is a large pickup (Tundra) concept. See here ... http://www.insideline.com/toyota/ftx/2004-detroit-toyota-ftx.html. Furthermore that concept was revealed back in 2007, which means the roll out year the author references would have been 2009. It wasn't rolled out, and concepts rarely ever are. They're teasers.

    From the Edmunds article linked above...

    "Consider this a preview of the truck that will be rolling out of Toyota's new assembly plant in San Antonio roughly two years from now. Unlike the current Tundra that's a shade smaller than most domestic pickups, this bruiser is an undisputed full-size in every way. It's nearly 19 feet long, 7 feet wide and sits well over 6 feet tall. The design only serves to exaggerate its outrageous proportions with its imposing grille and bulging fenders. A hybrid gas-electric V8 provides the power to back up its looks while offering the efficiency of a V6 to keep it practical."

    -->>

    To the OP ... consider that the 1st year of any new design is usually the "beta" year ... i.e. the year to work out the kinks. Consider the tailgate problems of the early 2nd gen. I would never buy the initial year of a new release. The 2009-2011 Tacoma has remained virtually unchanged. It's a stable design. Unless you want latest and greatest, the current design is a good truck. Now the hybrid design expected to hit market next year may be something to watch. But again there are always kinks!

    .

    FWIW ... every time that I have purchased a "first year production model" ... i.e. .... 2000 Tundra, 2004 Titan & 2007 Tundra & etc. .... I have had to deal with "first model year issues". :confused:

    Now, I only buy after the "first model year production" .... just my experiences.

    In 2008 the new design was to come in 2009. In 2009 it was 2010, in 2010 it was 2011 and the grill was changed!!! It's all speculation. I know a guy who works for Toyota like many others and he thinks it will probably be new in 2012. That said, I think it will be sometime near 2012. Maybe thats what the TX package is all about. I asked my local dealer if the 2011 will be different, he looked up on his computer on google images, typed it up and showed me a 2008 and said..."nope, it looks the same to me." What a freakin idiot.
