What are you looking for? I go to custom truck for alot of stuff in the Bay. They have 2 locs, south city and redwood City. Probably pay more on labor because it's in the bay but it's close and convenient.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'm looking for either an ARE z-series, snugtop rebel, or a leer 100xr. I'm leaning towards the ARE, but best quotes I'm getting are for about $3k otd for a pretty basic setup.

Yea, my 100xr is about 3k with all the fixings. Roof rack, power lock, slideling window with pet screen, sliding windoor and carpet ceiling. I'm adding a power lock to tail gate as well!

What are you looking to get on your shell?

Considering a Rebel topper as well. Do you know if leaking is a problem with this style or was it an installation issue? The dealer also mentioned that the Super White is one of the more difficult colors to match. Was that an issue for you?

It was mostly a build quality issue. One of the roof rail mounts was missing the inside plastic fastener, the 3rd brake light had a out-of-tolerance gap, and the installer didn't seal up the front of the bed properly. After four days of really heavy rain I found a damn pool in my bed.

Once my installer replaced the missing hardware, sealed up the brake light with silicone, and used a lot more butyl tape to re-install, it was 90% sealed. I finished it up by stuffing even more butyl tape in the front bed gaps, and installing a rubber gasket on the tailgate gap. It's weatherproof now.

My color match looks dead on, so at least they got that right. They didn't do a very good job on cutting and compounding though, so I'll have to perform some paint correction in spring.

It was a pretty frustrating experience considering how much I paid, but now that the issues are resolved I'm mostly satisfied.

Mobile Living ..... they are in Concord. Prices seem to be about the same everywhere. They had my cap ready for install in two weeks. Had a problem with one of the windows and they had a replacement installed a week later.

did you just install the butyl tape around the top of the bed rails? Also, for the front two opening, did you silicon those closed with added tape? Anyway you can post some pics?

I just left the local Leer dealer and got a quote of $2695 for a 100R with top rails, front sliding window, carpeting and installation for $2695, plus tax. Seems high but he is willing to take items in trade that are not even remotely related to camper shells or trucks. This will go on my 2020 Tacoma access cab. I'm waiting on a quote from the local ARE dealer to compare. With tax, I'm looking at $2856.70 for the Leer. Is this more or less in the ball park for this Leer model with the chosen options?

    Thanks...

Edit.. you can find it on leer website

Right on.... I was a little shell shocked when I was shopping around. Have had the shell on for a few months and have absolutely no regrets.

Yea! I had a shell on my last truck. Driving around without one over the past month or so since I got my truck made me feel empty while driving my truck lol
