Basically rebuilt a cheap topper found on fb marketplace. Hopefully this will help people understand why a topper costs what it does.
Keep in mind this one is likely from the 1990s.

Honestly did not think I would have any luck finding a cement shell. Literally found one on FB marketplace the second time looking. $1,100.

Ended up ordering a ARE CX for a long bed. Came with carpet, install, front drop down window, roof rack track and got the drivers side windoor for access. $2369.

It was a cold snowy day here in Kentucky but I did get the shell installed.
    Here's a few pics.
I'll get some better ones when I get the truck cleaned up and the snow out of the bed.

    @kywoodsrider

Looks good and appears to match well for the exterior painting.

Any opinions so far with limited ownership?

Add any noise or turbulence on the highway?

Does it seem like you have 42" of inside height?

I am impressed with the fit and the color match. There is a slight difference in gloss maybe due to fiberglass vs metal.
It's only about 10 miles of highway on the way home but I couldn't detect any wind noise and fuel mileage seemed about the same.
I got inside briefly to scoop out some of the snow. I didn't measure the height but seems like after I get my sleeping platform built I should be able to sit up without bending over.
I'll try to take a measurement tomorrow.
I'm anxious to get the dirt bike on the hitch hauler and head out for a few days of riding and camping!!

I measured 41 1/4" in the center of the bed to the ceiling.
I have a 3/4" thick stall mat (like you get at Tractor Supply) as a bed mat so you have the potential for 42" of head room.

Thanks for taking the time to measure..Was hoping it would be close to 42" and sounds like it should.

Excited to get mine but I've got the waiting game going on now.

Finally had a chance to drop the topper off to a local shop to have it painted. I also installed my rhino rack tracks prior.
