$500 for a Leer 100XR. I ended up offering cash to a guy on CL who was selling his truck w/ the canopy. I told him he'd still get his asking price without the cap so he might as well make a couple bucks extra on the side. He agreed and here I am lol

I ended up installing some windoors, regasketing the bed and am in the process of adding a roof rack to it. I'm thinking I'll be into it under $800 once I'm finished.

    Nice!
Where did you get the parts for the windoors?

There's a little mom & pop canopy dealer next to my place. Dude will sell components to canopies like windows, rear glass, gaskets, etc for self install. Not sure if he's supposed to do that but he does it for people.

Yep. Go to the leer website and find the local dealer in your area. They should have a parts catalog they can order from.

    Ah gotcha, that’s cool!

Thanks! I just stopped by my local Leer dealer on my way home from work, and at first he told me that they do sell replacement windoors for the sides. But, unfortunately, after walking out to my truck and seeing my topper, he told me that my style of topper - the 100XL - does not support windoor replacements. :(

He was talking about the 100XR (see sample pic below).

I'd be willing to bet you could fit a Century windoor in there, given they are owned by the same company. I'd bet $1 they share the same hardware and windows.

Century and leer aren’t just the same parent company. They are the exact same shells with different badges on them.

I figured this was the case, given the proximity of the factories to each other. Just didn’t know/didn’t care 100p to make the assertion lol.

So what is the difference then? My Leer dealer also sells Century parts. Do the Century shells just have cheaper paint or something?

Different badges, and different rear hatch handle. Everything else is exactly the same.

I paid 1500 for a used snug top with windoors. It was in fairly good shape but some of the latches have become pretty worn from off road vibes.

I added it instead of the regular Leer logo. Only nerds know! Haha

Just ordered my A.R.E cap…$3,700 and some change. Paint matched, one lockable solid wind-door on each side (also paint matched), one side with a toolbox, one side full bed access. Yakima roof rack, a ceiling rope light hard wired to the truck battery, and a built in clothes hanger.

I got quotes from 5 different dealers and that was the cheapest quote I could find. Even went out of my state for a couple of the quotes. The highest quote I received was over $4,200 for the exact options I listed above.

My dealer said current lead time is 15-weeks for ARE. That’s a long time but I am stoked.

OfferUp - $100 for my 2004 DCSB loaded out ARE topper. Sold for $600 about a year later after moving and finding no further need for it.

Fb Marketplace - $60 for my 2004 DCSB again for a basic Jason topper. Sold for $800 this past January before trading in my truck.

Fb Marketplace - $700 for my 2020 DCSB for a loaded out ARE CX topper.

Patience, clever keyword searches, and swiftness will yield low hanging fruit in due time.
