What'd you pay for your shell?

Anybody know roughly what it would cost to get one painted - color matched, if you picked up a used one?

 

The range is vast. I have seen people post on here $300+.
I was quoted $800 by a body shop. And $400 by maaco.

 

I paid $400 for this cap. Its an ARE X-series color matched to my truck. It took me being patient for a few months, but finally found it on CL. It was about 6 hours away, but I was already headed up that direction so it worked out perfectly.

 

iirc quotes were 500-800 for body shops and +200 in paint to do the worK myself

 

2400 for Leer XR. Screen window and top hinge window.

 

Ordered a ARE mx , windoor on driver side,slider window passenger side, tiltdown front slider window,headliner, $2300 OTD

 

Purchased a Snugtop Rebel tonight with drop down front slider, pet screens for the side windows, reinforcement package and LED light for $2034 includes install but no tax, OTD was $2180

 

I recently ordered an ARE MX shell: double locking "t" handles, carpet headliner (free), tilt front opening slider, vented win-doors on both sides, and rack tracks, installed $2,662.
I ordered it geared for my dogs.

 

I just put a deposit down on a snugtop rebel for my 2016 DCSB. The local dealer in Salt Lake wanted $3400+Tax. Ended up shopping around and found a better option out top for less, but will have to drive to Vegas (6 hours) to get it installed. Out the door with fold down front window with slider, sportsmans package without fishing rod holder (makes the top capable of 500LBS i.e. Roof Top Tent) Yakima tracks, and upgraded handle that locks with the trucks key fob for $2360 including tax. Please shop around everyone. Saved me about $1200. Its gonna be installed on my 30th birthday. Happy Birthday to me!! Will post pics when installed.

 

I purchased a LEER 100XR for my 2016 off another member on here for $900.

 

I got a Leer 100r with almost every option for $250. Getting color matched this week. Getting it painted will cost more than topper.

 

Just put a deposit on an ARE MX carpet lined, pet screen and half sliders both sides, front tilt down, single lock, and a long bed $2137 OTD.

 

Got my shell a week early. Already got the platform done. Very happy with it. Paint match couldn’t be any better, It’s dead on. Happy I got a Snugtop.

 

I've bought probably 4 shells in the last 7 years. if you search CL hard enough of Facebook marketplace they can be had for 400 easily

 

Raider Vagabond Elite (which is a Leer 100xr with a different decal on it). Fold down front sliding window, roof rack tracks, carpet, dome light, sliding windoors. Total was right around $2300. The leer dealer closest to me quoted just under $3000 for the exact same setup.

Edit: I was mistaken. Found my receipt. $2075 w/ install before tax.

 

Leer 100XL, color matched, carpeted, sliding and removable front window, and tracks on the roof for $2100.

 

Paid $309 for this painted leer 100r. Drive 6 12 hours round trip 11minutes after it was posted on Craigslist. Patience pays.

 

Confirming that we're paying the regular inflated rate in Canada

3rd gen DC/OR - 5 foot box - I have ordered an ARE CX HD w/ upgraded lighting, tool box on one side, all doors are aluminum with the flip locks, sliding front window. I went with the HD because of the support frame for the roof rack. I want to keep my Tepui on it just about full-time, with a lot of rough road miles, and the extra support brings peace of mind.

I'm picking it up next week, so I'll let you know how it goes. Here is a pic from their website:
