Live in Phoenix. My wife and I are the drivers on the policy. We're both in our 30s, 790-800 credit scores, clean records. Currently paying $600 for 6 months with Progressive for 2015 CRV EX and 2021 Tacoma SR5. 100/300 on liability and also 100/300 for uninsured/underinsured. Comprehensive and collision deductible at $500 with $0 glass replacement coverage. No additional coverages and not bundling anything at the moment.

I quote a couple companies every renewal to make sure pricing is still good. Previously had used Ameriprise (Costco) and then Geico. The only other company that had prices similar to what I have now is Liberty Mutual.

Houston in Harris County is the most expensive auto insurance in Texas. As for 3 years or five years...If you are shopping for new insurance companies can look at as much as five years to "price tier" you. However, once with a company and you get tickets or claims they can only charge you for 39 months. I write insurance in 42 states. Far as I have seen it is the same in most.

$75/month through USAA for full coverage on my 2022. Granted, this is bundled with another vehicle and homeowner’s insurance so it’s discounted accordingly.

Like it was said earlier in this thread, where you live makes a huge difference in your rate(s). Texas has some high rates. I'm 46yrs old. I've had 0 at fault accidents or tickets in the last 7yrs. My credit score is in the mid-800 range.

Here's what I pay, per year: It breaks down to $77.25 per month. I know my deductible is high, but I haven't had an at-fault accident in so long. The money I've saved by raising my deductible gets tucked away in a savings account, to be used for the deductible! Oh, and I drive roughly 15k miles per year.

My wife and I upper 50s top o the line credit rating, own home, no accidents or tickets all bundled with AAA for 17 years. $1500 deductible to lower rates and her 2011 Camry and my 2020 OR 4x4 costs around $2k per year.
Edit: and uninsured driver coverage cuz, you know, hit and runs are going to be the next Olympic sport.

Everyone, check your insurance credit reports. I found several mistakes. Get your C.L.U.E. report and your Nexus Lexus report. There might be some other insurance reports as well.

Brother, you don't know how true that is.

Everyone says "Get a dash cam. Be a more defensive driver!" I have both of those, but if somebody hits me and runs. What good is my dash cam or defensive driving skills? It's not just uninsured drivers, it's UNDER insured. Maybe you don't carry enough coverage to fix my vehicle? If someone carrying state minimum (which is usually 25k, I think?) hits me and totals my truck, I have to come out of pocket for the balance.

I have 3 vehicles in the policy
all of them have full cover
    $2k deductible

    4Runner $537/6 months
    Tacoma $609/6 months
    Camry $653/ 6 months

I'm the only person on the policy.

What I don't understand is why 4Runner, the most expensive one is the cheapest, and the sub $30k bare bone Camry is the most expensive to insure

I bet the 4 Runner is new, right? Like 2019 or above, and the Camry is mid 2000's or older? If so, the 4Runner has all the latest and greatest safety features. Pre Collision, BSM, Advanced Braking, Lane Keep Assist, etc, etc, etc....

Now you mentioned that does make sense, the Camry doesn't have BSM, rear cross traffic alert, etc those goodies.
But the Tacoma is new too with all the safety tech and yet that's still more expensive than the 4Runner.

I feel like the algorithm doesn't weigh the cost of the vehicle much, but rather it looks at the vehicle make and model and their claims rate.
So 4Runners maybe don't get into accidents or file claims more often than Tacomas do.
My sister's Prius is like $900 something per 6 months, which is nuts. I bet it's the cat thefts that raise the premium.
