I kinda wish I could move back to Lufkin. If I had the money, I'd buy my great grandmother's house. But I am am guessing my aunt's are going to fight over it once the lawyer and court says they can start to settle the will.

it ain't been the same up north here in Cornhusker land when NU left the big 12 and all the long-time big 8 OK rivalry and then the TX schools in the mid-90s
now we get our ass beat from the penn st, ohio st, michigan, fuck michigan and that hellhole place lately you can take the boat on the lake but cannot take the whole family onit screw that! not even allowed to leave your home and go to your lakehouse property at one point this spring there
not sure what the heck they were thinking in Lincoln going to a conference where half the eastern teams have recruiting prospects of the big hardened bruisers in the surrounding NJ area

I moved to Houston in 1991 just after getting married, left in 2011 going through a divorce. But really, I like my time in Texas, have some great friends there, but I call NM and southern Colorado home. Houston had places to go and things to do all the time.
I hated winter in Houston, when it got cold, it was a bitter, bone chilling cold, I think winters in Colorado are nicer. Hurricanes and storms and flooding can really suck. I had a job that requires me to be at work no matter what was going on outside.
Traffic can suck, like someone said earlier, plan on an hour to get someplace and longer if between 3:30-7pm, traffic sucks. Toll roads everywhere now.
What type of food do you like, you can get it in Houston.
I will still go back and visit, but only between March- Mid May or Late Sept - early Nov. I was at a graduation party late May of 2019, sitting in a chair and sweating.
Texas is just like anyplace else, good and bad, bad people and great people.

take a two week vacation and go visit and see for yourself. If you decide on Houston, be aware of the flood planes, with the new building there, it is changing considerably, not sure about the rest of the state.

I can say without a doubt that I am glad that I am no longer in Texas, just not for me. Love the mountains of the Southwest. I am a little blue and where I live, it’s mixed, mostly right and getting farther right which I don’t like, but I also don’t like far left. I can open carry if I want and I do when walking the dog. Had a mountain cat take down a deer about 1/4 mile from the house last week.

Saw a guy today driving down Manchaca with New Jersey plates. He was (get ready for this nonsense) doing 55 in a 55.

    Like a fucking maniac.

Doesn’t he know that Texas speed limits (outside of school zones) are 6 MPH higher than what’s on the sign? I mean, what’s he thinking?

He wasn’t using his phone, smoking, or trying to reprogram his stereo at the same time either!

    GO BACK TO JERSEY!!!

    ya! its crazy
that is a limit, it does not mean you have to go that fast, but you do have to go the minimum legally in TX, no?
as long as they are in the far right lane, no issues?
    slow down, be safe!

I have been going 77 in a 70, doing the speed of traffic, and still had my doors blown off while zooming past a highway patrolman on the side of road.

    Nothing. Dude didn’t even twitch.
