the Undercover cover has two locks at rear of cover, the cover itself over hangs the sides of bed and tailgate. It has two struts, lifts on an angle and also built in lights (3 LED's) it mounts to the facory rails.
Easy on/off if need be, 1 person job, also comes with hangers to hang it up when not in use.
Mine is water tight, and will take one heck of a load on top.

It works great for me. I would buy it again. The over hang for the tail gate is enough to deter theft of cargo and the tail gate itself. Notice I said deter not prevent completely. If your truck sits long enough anything can be gotten.

I have the undercover as well and like it alot. As for price, mine was $670 to the door. I had compared prices and these were reasonable. It might be nice to have a folding one, but I like the look of this better...no lines running through the middle. It's as convenient as a large, very large trunk. The material is durable also, like that of the bed interior.

this is going to seem like a stupid question, but is the box on the 09 the same as on the 08? all the application guides I've looked at say for 05-08...

The short answer is yes...the 08 and 09 are the same model number (4070 for access cab I believe). I just got mine!

I don't think 200 can make it happen..... just the tailgate lock will be 120.00. .. the soft cover will be like around 360.00 so you talk about the total package is around 500.00

With the Undercover, is the tailgate harder to open? I know it is not completely theft-proof but I also don't want to spend extra on a tailgate lock.

    Undercover.
Tailgate won't open unless undercover is lifted.

Great, thanks! Other quick question is that on the site, it states that some bedliners require trimming. Is there any trimming required for the Tacoma? I haven't heard anything so far but I thought I'd confirm.

You can get a nice roll up soft cover tonneau like the Access Literider from Luke at truckalterations.com for $285 shipped (that's what I paid, anyway) but, obviously, a knife would do quick work to it in the security department. I do have a PopNLock on my tailgate too so it will deter some but I only keep a stroller in it. I would never keep anything of value back there.

The bottom line is, if you want security, you need a hard tonneau and you won't get that for $200 unless you're extremely lucky on Craigslist or Ebay.
