It's an 05 Double cab, 6ft bed, SR-5...side air bags, 134k, 90% interstate miles, tires have less than 5k, average wear and tear...don't see many like it for sale...was wondering what I might expect to get out of it?

I'm familiar with KBB, but those prices don't seem realistic.

I don't think they are. Lots of people asking KBB prices around here, but those trucks aren't moving. Used prices are hugely inflated. I'm seeing people with 2005 4x4 double cabs and 150K+ miles asking $20K. Are you kidding me? Toyotas are good, but not THAT good.
Sorry. That didn't really answer your question. Just had to put in my 0.02.

I agree. Many sellers get caught up in thinking their truck or car is exceptional. I just saw a 2003, extended cab only, 4x4, 4 cylinder, and they were asking almost $14k....which seems high.

For reference, my dad sold his 2001 V6 DC 2x4 with 90K miles 6 years ago for $10-11K. I see people with those same trucks with 100K+ asking more than that 6 years later. That's how inflated used prices are.

Thanks for the input. I'm starting to realize these trucks aren't as plentiful in the used market and that drives up the prices.

By me, the pre runners are plentiful. 4x4 not so much. Same year same mileage prerunner 2x4 is $3-5K less than the 4x4 sport. The 4x2 prices are much more reasonable, but still high imo.
Good luck with the sale. I would pay trade in or slightly higher for the right used truck. Not kbb private party price.

Maybe we need a thread where people post what they actualy got for their truck. Not what they wanted to get.

i would say 17-18k if it's a 4x4, 14-15 if it's a 2wd, but check kbb and nada, trucks are moving quick for above kbb prices in my neck of the woods

The southwest NADA guide shows a clean trade in price of $13675 and a clean retail price of $16750 for a Tacoma with your mileage. Of course a truck is really only worth what somebody is willing to pay for it.

I just bought an '05 TRD Sport Prerunner with 78k miles for $17,500. Dealer wanted $18,900 but I talked them down a little bit. I was pretty happy with the purchase, plus it was a Toyota dealership so it was certified... I bought mine on April 24th...
