I have full 20% ceramic tints, even on a 75 degree day my AC doesn't blow ice cold like. Before. Like right now, its 85 out. Not too bad but I have AC on coldest setting.. both zones and truck with blow cool...then cold.. then warm... before I would have it on 68 with 2nd fan setting and I was freezing! I work outside so when I noticed a change in the cooling ability I was a little worried. Truck has 28k miles.. never had this issue even driving in Phoenix, AZ. Going to a new dealer next tuesday. They offered to recharge and add dye and make sure its blowing ice cold by the time I leave....

Not sure if this is your issue or not. But if your next trip to the dealer does not end with desired results you might look into this TSB.

    Lol.

Please share the outcome whether it works or not. It might help someone else.

I will update, now that I think about it. The previous service Advisor was using very tricky wording when I was speaking with him..."is there speed involved with the temperature change? Do you notice a drop in rpm at stop that seems your AC is off?"

I said the AC can't keep up with the temperature on these hot days. I can feel it gets cold then immediately turns to warm...

    Makes sense those tricky bastards!

    Not this time....

Thanks for giving my post some light. never really got to much of a response from it. I never did it but was looking at doing it myself, sometime, when i have time, which is not very often.

I do a lot of overland trips, having AC that I cannot rely on is completely unacceptable. I know this has nothing to do with the techs or the majority of employees at the dealership but come on toyota... going in next Tuesday for issue I will be sure to let everyone know.

I think TSB's apply only during the 3/36 part of your warranty so hopefully you are still under 36K.

I’ve definitely noticed mine doesn’t get truly cold. Brand new too

I dislike mine’s output as well, but it is giving me half of ambient - as good as can be expected. I think the black interior & seats just make it cook!

I came here looking for a thread like this. Mine's brand new (less than 500 miles) and the AC temp is rather weak on a warm Florida day. Did you ever get this issue worked out?
