    Hey Nebraska people!

I'm in Lincoln for work. We flew in to Omaha and took a shuttle over here and I didn't see a single Tacoma on the road. I haven't seen one here in Lincoln, either.

Back home in Oregon they're like every 3rd truck on the road. Are Tacos not as popular here? Do people tend toward full size trucks?

Just something I noticed, and figured this would be the place to ask.

Otherwise, it seems pretty cool here. People are pretty friendly. Anywhere I should check out near UNL while I'm in town?

has anybody had their windows tinted from Owner's Pride in the Millard area?
my passenger side has been bubbling from age and needs redone!
also thinking of tinting the front windshield to block UV rays but not sure about the legality of that here

they also have something called ceramic window tinting ($135 for 2 front windows) that I have only briefly heard about and not sure what it is exactly

hand washed the truck up super clean, it was dirty af, and headed out this evening to the Blackstone district, a very crowded & hip area to be in midtown Omaha

the place was a dark, deserted ghost town on Irish day of all days

the NE department of roads informed me they are well aware of the road hazards on i80 through Omaha, along with US-75 through south O and Bellevue, they drive them every day checking
the upcoming project is a major reworking of the bridge approaches and could be a 20-year project, causing some traffic congestion problems while shutting down to only a few lanes

it only took around six+ months to finally get some good deets on this but it would still help to reduce the speed limit through the city and enforce it better, especially the big commercial trailer truck traffic

    Baxter Coronavirus Response

Dear team members, guests and community members:
For more than 60 years, the health and safety of our team and our guests has always been our top priority for Baxter Auto Group. During this unprecedented situation of the COVID-19 outbreak, we will continue prioritizing your health and well-being across our 20 locations throughout Nebraska, Kansas and Colorado.

We want to report to you that we have enhanced the way we serve our guests.

Effective Monday, March 16, our stores are focused on delivering Car Buying On Your Terms. Here’s what that means:

    • At-home Test Drives: We will deliver the vehicle of your choice to your door—fully sanitized and ready for a test drive. You’re able to keep the car for up to 24 hours, and we’ll also appraise your trade-in vehicle on the spot.
    • Simplified Process: Our team is standing by to help provide Instant Answers any way you’d prefer—over the phone, via email, text or instant chat.
    • Hassle-free Delivery: Our guests can take advantage of the vehicle being delivered to you, along with the final paperwork.
    • Service Pick-up & Return: We recognize now is not the time to have a service waiting area full of guests. As a result, we will pick-up and return any vehicle for service to any of our locations. Please contact your preferred service location for details. The vehicle will be fully sanitized at both pickup and delivery as a precaution against any spread of COVID-19.
We are actively monitoring the guidance provided by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO) and our local leaders for precautionary measures. In response to the most recent information, our stores have:

    • Instituted new deep cleaning and safety protocols for all stores and employees and will continue to enhance and evolve these measures as directed by the CDC guidelines and local government policies.
    • Implemented a “hands-free” policy for staff & guests, as well as limiting any outside visits from vendors to our stores beyond guests and employees
    • Posted relevant signage throughout the stores which provides information about COVID-19, and critical ways to avoid being exposed to it.
    • Increased the number of hand sanitizer stations throughout the stores, and relentlessly encouraging members of our team to wash their hands throughout the day.
    • Instructed all employees who are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 to self-monitor from home, and if necessary, visit a doctor.
In closing, we recognize this is a trying time for all of us. Our company has had the great privilege of serving our community for more than 60 years and we plan to continue doing so—through good times and bad. We will remain singularly focused on the health and well-being of our team, guests and community, and will steward our team through this tumultuous time so that we can remain an integral part of the communities we serve.

    Thank you,

one of the benefits of being in fly-over country = low zombie virus infections

Iowa currently has more than twice what we have here currently, what's the deal with that? closer to Chicago?

There’s low case numbers where there’s low testing. 25-50% of people are asymptomatic so until there’s wide spread testing, you aren’t gonna know. Missouri increased cases by 600% last week as they got more testing.

Many people are being told to assume you have it and stay home. That’s a whole lot more cases unaccounted for.

    state - tests - cases
    Illinois - 40,384 - 6980
    Missouri - 17,427 - 1581
    Iowa - 7,853 - 594
    Nebraska - 3685 - 210

that definitely can explain a bit of it
but don't you only need tested at the moment if you get sick and go into the hospital/clinic?
seems more are getting sick in Iowa than Nebraska by a large amount
my brother said his doctor tested him for virus last week but it was just some asthma so idk

pulled up to one of these in Lincoln today on O street, bright Husker red!
the young guy driving it said it was a 1991 and 105k miles
it looked so clean on the exterior, probably never driven in the winter, or maybe is a transplant
i had no camera with me for a pic but it was real, i assure you
